17、ification of inspections. - See MIL-A-480784.3 First article inspection. - Prior to the start of regularproduction the contractor shall submit a first article sample to aGovernment approved facility (see 6.2b) as designated by thecontracting officer for evaluation in accordance with the pro-visions
18、of 4,3.2. The first article sample will consist of25 complete sets of parts and sub-assemblies (i.e. 25 each ofevery component and sub-assembly) which have been produced bythe contractor or furnished by a supplier and which have beenmanufactured using the same production processes, proceduresand equ
19、ipment which will be used in fulfilling the contract.All parts and materials including packaging and packing shallbe obtained from the same source of supply as will be used inregular production. Prior to submission, the contractor shallinspect the sample to the degree necessary to assure that itconf
20、orms to the requirements of the contract and submit a recordof this inspection with the sample including a certificate ofconformance for materials, A sample containing known defectswill not be submitted unless specifically authorized by the Con-tracting Officer. A first article sample, or portion th
21、ereof,as directed by the Contracting Officers shall also be submittedwhenever there is a lapse in production for a period in excessof 90 days or whenever a change occurs in manufacturing process,material used, drawing or specification such as to significantlyaffect product uniformity as determined b
