T
2、his Commercial Item Description covers elastic bandages with rubber warp threads. Salient characteristics: Shall be rubber elastic bandage suitable for use as a pressure bandage, support, or binder in the treatment of orthopedic and post-operative patients. The length of the unstretched bandage shal
3、l be 57 inches minimum and the stretched length shall be a minimum average of 162 inches. As an alternate, the length of the unstretched bandage shall be 67 inches minimum and the stretched length shall be a minimum average of 180 inches. Unstretched bandages shall be of the following widths: SIZE 1

This shall be demonstrated by measuring a 10 inch length of bandage and stretching it to 22 inches for one hour, then releasin
6、g. The marked off portion of the bandage shall be remeasured. After subjection to 5 laundering cycles at 212OF and 5 drying cycles at 220F, the bandage shall have a minimum elasticity of 120 percent and a minimum return of 75 percent. The cut ends shall be sewn or otherwise treated to prevent raveli
7、ng. The edges shall be selvage. Each bandage shall be packaged with a minimum of two fastening clips made of corrosion resisting metal. bandage, they shall not loosen during laundering. The rubber strands shall have an inner covering of nylon and an outer covering of cotton. The filli

Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and test
27、ing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. Sampling for examination and tests shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 2.5 (percent defective) and an inspection level of S-3. 30、bandage shall be laid on a horizontal surface and stretched to limit without application of mechanical force. While in the stretched position, the length of the bandage shall be measured parallel to the edges, to the nearest inch. The length shall be Stretched lenath. Elasticitv test. A full width b
31、andage (not previously stretched) shall be laid out on a flat horizontal surface without tension. A ten inch portion of the bandage shall be marked off and stretched to 22 inches. The bandage shall remain stretched to 22 inches for one hour, and then released. The marked off portion of the bandage s
32、hall be measured again (without tension).
