It was issued by the Standards Council on July 14, 2014, wit

33、g Engineers ofthe National Board of Fire Underwriters. Editions of NBFU No. 37 were published in 1905and 1910.The project was turned over to the NFPA Committee on Explosives and Combustibles, whoproduced the 1915 edition by combining the 1910 edition of NFPA 37 with the 1908 edition ofNBFU No. 37A,
34、“Rules and Requirements for the Construction, Installation and Use of CoalGas Producers (Pressure and Suction Systems).” The 1915 edition was designated NFPA 37 37A, Installation and Use of Internal Combustion Engines (Gas, Gasolene sic, Kerosene, Fuel Oil) alsoCoal Gas Producers (Pressure and Sucti
35、on Systems). Responsibility for the project was later trans-ferred to the Committee of Gases, which produced revised editions of NFPA 37 37A in 1922and 1934.In 1955, responsibility for the standard was transferred to the Committee on InternalCombustion Engines, which eliminated the provisions addres
36、sing coal gas producers. Revisededitions of the document were issued in 1959, 1963, 1967, 1970, 1975, 1979, 1984, 1990, 1994,1998, and 2002.The 1998 edition incorporated the following major amendments:(1) Major restructuring of the document(2) Removal of the 7500 hp limitation in the scope of the st
37、andard(3) Clarification of the definition for an “engine enclosure” and addition of a definition for“engines for emergency use”(4) Clarification of requirements for fuel tanks and fuel supply for liquid-fueled engines(5) Inclusion of guidance for the installation of gas trains for gaseous-fueled eng
38、ines(6) Addition of requirements for engine exhaust systemsThe 2002 edition incorporated the following major amendments:(1) The entire document was revised and restructured to comply with the Manual of Style forNFPATechnical Committee Documents.(2) Definitions in Chapter 3 were reviewed for consiste
39、ncy with definitions in other NFPAdocuments, systematically aligned, and individually numbered.(3) Paragraph structuring was revised with the intent of one mandatory requirement persection, subsection, or paragraph.(4) Information that was considered explanatory or advisory was relocated to Annex A,

42、ed the following major amendments:(1) New definitions were added for “gas train” and certain components thereof.(2) The requirements in 4.1.2.1 for engine rooms for engines located inside structures were revised.(3) New requirements were added to 4.1.2.2 for detached structures used specifically for
43、 housing engines or turbinesand their appurtenances.(4) Spill control requirements in 4.1.3.2 were clarified.(5) A completely new and more comprehensive Section 5.2 describing the required components of the gas train wasadded, along with a diagram and appropriate annex text.(6) More comprehensive re
44、quirements were added to Sections 5.3 and 5.4 for gas regulators and manual shutoffvalves, respectively, including appropriate and necessary annex text.The 2010 edition incorporated the following major amendments:(1) Sections on Retroactivity (1.4) and Equivalency (1.5) were added.(2) Enhanced/new d
45、efinitions were added for “automatic safety shutoff valve,” “automatic safety vent valve,” “ventvalve,” and “secondary containment tank.”(3) Paragraph 4.1.1.5 was revised regarding allowable types of air filters for engine combustion air.(4) Subsection 4.1.4 was revised to clarify that either altern
46、ative to the minimum separation required between anengine and a structure can be used.(5) Section 5.2 was revised regarding the safety components required in a gas train.(6) A new subsection 5.4.4, Automatic Safety Shutoff Valves for Gas Turbines, was added to establish specific require-ments for th
47、ese safety components as applied to gas turbines that are distinct from those for internal combustionengines.(7) Paragraph 6.3.4.2 was revised to allow double-wall fuel storage tanks for roof-top installation.(8) New paragraph 6.8.3.1 was added to require a double block valve arrangement in liquid f
48、uel lines as a fire andexplosion mitigation measure.(9) Chapter 9, Control and Instrumentation, was completely revised to establish the minimum required protectivecontrol devices for engines and turbines; to present the requirements in a more logical sequence; to identify, forconstantly attended ins
49、tallations, those devices that can safely be replaced by alarms and required proceduresthat must be in place to direct proper operator response; and to incorporate necessary explanatory informationin the Annex.(10) Chapter 11, Fire Protection Features, was completely revised to present the requirements in a more logicalsequence and to incorporate necessary explanatory information in the Annex.(11) The explanatory information in A.5.2 on calculating the fuel input rating was revised.The 2015 edition incorporates the following major amendments:(1) Paragraph 4.1.1.5 has bee
