The m

2、embers have shown their interest in quality products by assisting independent standard-making and user organizations in the development of standards, and also by developing reports on an industry-wide basis to help engineers, code officials, specifying groups, and users. This technical note has been

3、 prepared to provide those responsible for the maintenance of existing HDPE pipelines with suggested general guidelines for the repair of those lines that have been subjected to third party or other unforeseen damage. These guidelines constitute a set of basic operations that have been demonstrated

4、by test and experience to produce satisfactory repairs with commercially available materials. Each specific procedure must be acceptable to, and qualified by, the operator having legal responsibility for the performance of the piping system. This document was not intended to provide system design in

5、formation. Go to the PPI website at www.plasticpipe.org for different system design documents. The Plastics Pipe Institute, Inc. has prepared this technical note as a service to the industry. 9、d to prevent accidental overexposure of crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) tubing and pipes to sunlight (UV light), PPI recommends that a CAUTION label be applied to all PEX tubing and pipe packaging by the manufacturer. This CAUTION label should contain the content as shown below. The size and shape of

10、 the label is not defined by PPI. The recommended text may alternatively be incorporated into existing labels with other information. The universal “no-sun” symbol may be reproduced as shown in color, black-and-white or grayscale, and should be positioned close to the recommended text. Typical label

11、 CAUTION Do not store PEX outdoors. Keep PEX pipes in the original packaging until time of installation. Ensure that exposure to sunlight during installation does not exceed the maximum recommended UV exposure time of X days, otherwise products may be damaged. The allowed exposure time of “X days“

12、shall be recommended by the pipe manufacturer following third-party testing of the product according to test method ASTM F 2657 and standard specification ASTM F 876.
