2、 develop. The problems that persist, in general, are well documented and understood. They do, however, need continuing attention if flight rates are to be maintained without compromising safety.Development of the NASA shuttle logistics depot, which is located in Cocoa Beach is proceeding very satisf
3、actorily, and should provide overhaul and repair facilities for a large range of shuttle components when it is fully developed and equipped. The main facility encompasses some 223,000 square feet, and an adjacent group of smaller buildings has 45,000 square feet. Among its several aims, the facility
4、 will permit more rapid turnaround of line replaceable units, reduce spares inventory requirements, and provide insurance against the cessation of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) overhaul services for certain obsolescent and unique components. The manufacture and repair of some items of Ground
5、 Support Equipment (GSE) also is being provided for, and the entire facility will form a very well-equipped “back shop“ for the on-site support of the shuttle programs. Completion of the required shop equipment, availability of fully trained personnel, provision of technical manuals, support, etc.,
