2、le power strip surge protector. The surge protector was located behind some furniture, on the floor, and out of sight of the employee unplugging the printer cord. The surge protector had apparently become stuck to the floor from floor maintenance, the plastic case had separated, and energized electr

3、ical components were exposed. When the employee reached back to unplug the cord, he they received a shock from the exposed components.Lesson(s) Learned: Physical contact with energized equipment and power sources should be performed only when the operation is clearly visible to the operator.Recommen

4、dation(s): 1. Never attempt to insert or remove an electrical plug into or from an energized receptacle or power strip that you cannot clearly see. This can easily lead to injury from shock by touching (or having jewelry touch) energized electrical components.2. Periodically check your power strips

5、and cords that are not easily seen to ensure that they are not damaged, nicked, or separating. Deenergize the devices to check them thoroughly if you can not clearly see them.3. Carefully remove all objects that have stayed in one place on the floor for any period of time. This is especially true of

6、 items that sit on tile floors and can become “Stuck“ from floor maintenance.
