SCOPE:This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) describes equivalent type equipment and operational guidelines for a standard sine wave impulse test mach

The machine may be used for testing hydraulic tubing, fittings, hose assemblies, and similar fluid system components, if desired.The standard sine wave impulse test machine is established for the following purposes:1. A design guide for future machines being built by manufacturers and users.2.
7、As a referee in the event of conflicting data from two or more nonstandard impulse machines. Such a referee machine might be built by an impartial testing activity.2. DISCUSSION:3.1 General:The sine wave impulse machine consists of four basic systems integrated into one operational system.3.1.1 Hydraulic Power Circuit: This is the hydraulic system, operating at normal room temperature, that prov
9、ides the hydraulic pressure to the impulse generating system. This system has all of its critical components or circuits.3.1.2 Pressure Intensification Unit: This is the hydraulic system that provides the impulse waveform to a test manifold. This unit includes an 8 to 1 low to high pressure ratio se
10、rvodriven intensifier, a rapid response servovalve, a high pressure accumulator, and other critical components needed to adjust and control the hydraulic pressure coming to and from the unit.3.1.3 Control Circuit: This is the hydraulic to electrical system that controls the signals to the PIU (press
11、ure intensification unit) and the impulse waveform at the test manifold. 13、itical components including suggested part numbers is listed in Table 1. Equivalent or better equipment may be used.3.4 Test Stand:This is the means of mounting the PIU and hydraulic power supply. The PIU should be mounted in a vertical position, high pressure end down, to reduce radial loads on the
14、 PIU seals. A typical test stand is shown in Figure 3.4. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES:4.1 Test Operation:4.1.1 VERIFY system bleed return valve open.4.1.2 VERIFY system bleed supply valve open.4.1.3 SET oven controls to obtain specified operating temperature. Obtain stability at operating temperature cond
15、itions.4.1.4 VERIFY transducer ZERO and R-CAL setup per the transducer calibration data.NOTE: Temperature sometimes affects the transducer zero.4.1.5 START hydraulic pumping system. VERIFY system supply pressure is 500 psig 100. VERIFY system bleed pressure is 300 psig 50.4.1.6 VERIFY specimen test
16、setup has been lead and pressure checked.4.1.7 RUN servodriver set point in EXTEND direction. Intensifier should be heard hitting the bottom in the extend direction.4.1.8 RUN servodriver set point in RETRACT direction. Intensifer should be heard hitting the bottom retract direction.4.1.9 CLOSE syste
17、m bleed return valve.4.1.10 CLOSE system bleed supply valve.4.1.11 RUN system supply pressure up to a pressure valve sufficient to obtain the required run impulse pressure wave conditions.4.1.12 RUN the servodriver set point pot UP to a valve approximately midway of the pressure cycle range.SAE INTE

Run the servodriver span pot UP until the required run pressure wave span i
19、s obtained.NOTE: The servodriver span pot can be changed to move the valve of the impulse pressure wave up or down.4.2 Test Shutdown:4.2.1 Deactivate the system control system to stop cycling.4.2.2 RUN servodriver set point pot down to zero.4.2.3 RUN servodriver span pot down to zero.4.2.4 RUN syste
20、m pressure down to 500 psig 100.
