1、 AEROSPACE INFORMATION REPORT Landing Gear Shock Strut Hydraulic Fluid Issued 2004-01AIR5358 1. SCOPE: This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) was prepared by a panel of the SAE A-5 Committee. This document establishes the specifications for fluids used in landing gear shock struts with extreme

2、pressure and antiwear additives that have been added for improved lubrication. This document requires qualified products. 1.1 Purpose: The purpose of this document is to describe several hydraulic fluids with an additive package that can be used for the reduction of friction and subsequent reduction

3、 of “ladder cracking” in commercial aircraft shock struts. 1.2 Field of Application: The requirements included herein are for a hydraulic fluid in commercial landing gear shock struts. The fluid contains a uniquely colored dye to differentiate it from other fluids used for hydraulic systems. 2. APPL

CLASSIFICATION:Fluids are classified as shown in Table 1. TABLE 1 - Classification of Fluids Type I - Preservative Shock Strut Fluid Type II

15、- In-Service Shock Strut Fluid Type III - In Service Shock Strut Fluid (Synthetic Fire Resistant) 5. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: a. The material shall be clear, homogeneous, and free from solid matter. b. The material shall consist of a base fluid premixed with suitable additives in accordance with MIL-PR

16、F-5606, MIL-PRF-6083, or MIL-PRF-87257 as specified. Except that the base fluids shall be formulated without the red dye typically used in the MIL-PRF-5606, MIL-PRF-6083, or MIL-PRF-87257. c. Every suppliers fluid shall be completely compatible with both the base fluids (i.e., MIL-PRF-5606, MIL-PRF-

17、6083, and MIL-PRF-87257) and all other fluids supplied to this document. d. A yellow dye will be used to indicate the presence of the extreme wear additive package. The color of the fluids shall be yellow. e. Extreme pressure/anti-wear additives shall be added in quantities not to exceed 2.7 percent

18、 by weight. 5.1 Properties: 5.1.1 Type I Fluid: The following fluids or combinations of fluids are approved as Type I: MIL-PRF-6083 fluid base pre-mixed with 1.5 0.1 percent by volume of Lubrizol 1395 and 1.0 0.1 percent by volume methyloleate. Yellow non-fluorescent dye at less than 0.01 percent by

19、 volume shall be added to the fluid. 5.1.2 Type II Fluid: The following fluids or combinations of fluids are approved as Type II: MIL-PRF-5606 fluid base pre-mixed with 1.5 0.1 percent by volume of Lubrizol 1395 and 1.0 0.1 percent by volume methyloleate. Yellow non-fluorescent dye at less than 0.01

20、 percent by volume shall be added to the fluid. 21、Type III: MIL-PRF-87257 fluid base pre-mixed with 1.5 0.1 percent by volume of Lubrizol 1395 and 1.0 0.1 percent by volume methyloleate. Yellow non-fluorescent dye at less than 0.01 percent by volume shall be added to the fluid. 5.1.4 Compatibility: The fluid shall be completely compatible when mixe

22、d with any other qualified products used in landing gear shock struts. Color change from mixing with previously qualified material is allowed. 5.1.5 Solid Particle Contamination: Fluid shall be tested for particle contamination as described in the specifications for the base fluid. The total amount

23、and size of particulate shall be no greater than that specified in the base fluid specification. 5.1.6 Physical and Chemical Properties of the Finished Oil: The hydraulic fluids shall conform to the physical and chemical requirements specified in Table 1.
