5、olyalphaolefin (PAO) Resistant Material RATIONALE New specification for a reference fluid for MIL-PRF-83282 and MIL-PRF-87257 PAO hydraulic fluid. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a polyalphaolefin/ester-blend fluid. 1.2 Application This fluid has been used typically to evaluate the abili

6、ty of elastomeric and other polymeric compounds to conform to designated requirements after immersion in the fluid at a specific temperature and time, as required by an applicable specification, and its use is limited to such applications. This fluid is not intended for operational use in hydraulic

7、systems. Each application should be considered separately. 1.3 Safety - Hazardous Materials While the materials, methods, applications, and processes described or referenced in this specification may involve the use of hazardous materials, this specification does not address the hazards which may be

8、 involved in such use. It is the sole responsibility of the user to ensure familiarity with the safe and proper use of any hazardous materials and to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all personnel involved. 2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Fluid shall consist of refined hydrogenated polyalpholefin decenes, diester and c

15、ommercial additives to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, or equivalent as approved by SAE CE Committee. 17、 a sample is to be drawn and inspected to determine conformity with the acceptability criteria in Table 2. A batch shall be a homogeneous mixture of material from one isolated container; or, filled with a homogeneous mixture of material manufactured by a single plant run (not to exceed 24 hours), th

18、rough the same processing equipment, with no change in ingredient material. 3.3 A lot shall consist of a small packaged quantity of a batch. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS3400 Page 3 of 4 3.4 Properties The product shall conform to the requirements shown in Table 2; tests shall be performed on a batch of the

19、 fluid supplied and in accordance with specified test methods. The odor shall not be irritating or nauseating. No substance of known t

21、oxicity under normal conditions of handling and use shall be present. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The manufacturer of fluid shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. The supplier of fluid shall furnish with each shipment a report from the m

22、anufacturer, showing the results of tests to determine conformance to the technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, batch and lot numbers, AMS3400, manufacturers identification, and quantity. 4.2 Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmator

23、y testing deemed necessary to ensure that the fluid conforms to the requirements. 4.3 A Hazardous Workplace Chemical- Hazard Evaluation and Safety Data Sheet and Precautionary Labeling Preparation conforming to ANSI Z400.1/Z129.1-2010, or equivalent, shall be supplied to each purchaser prior to, or

24、with the first shipment of fluid. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packaging and Identification 5.1.1 A batch of fluid may be packaged in small lot quantities provided the batch identification is maintained. 5.1.2 The fluid shall be packaged in airtight containers of such size and design as to keep u

25、llage to a minimum. 26、ISTANT MATERIAL AMS3400 MANUFACTURERS IDENTIFICATION_ BATCH AND LOT NUMBER_ DATE OF MANUFACTURE_ QUANTITY_ APPROPRIATE WARNINGS OR PRECAUTIONARY NOTICIES_ 5.1.4 Containers of fluid shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regul

27、ations pertaining to the handling, packaging and transportation of the fluid to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A supplier shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. NOTES 7.1 This fluid
