TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:3.1 Detail Specifications: The requirements for a specific adhesive shall consist o

19、f all the requirements specified herein in addition to the requirements specified in the applicable detail specification. In case of any conflict between the requirements of this basic specification and an applicable detail specification, the requirements of the detail specification shall govern.3.2

20、 Material:The adhesive shall be a modified epoxy film supplied in sheet or rolls, consisting either entirely ofadhesive material or of a carrier impregnated with adhesive, with a suitable nonadhering separatorfilm on both surfaces. The adhesive film shall be used with AMS 3107 corrosion-inhibiting p

21、rimerand cured in accordance with the applicable detail specification to form an adhesive/primer system and shall not have a deleterious effect on the surface of materials being bonded.3.2.1 Storage Life: The adhesive shall meet the requirements of this specification and the applicable detail specif

22、ication when tested at any time up to the time and under the temperature conditions specified in the applicable detail specification, when the adhesive has been stored in the original sealed packages.3.3 Properties:Adhesive shall conform to the following requirements:3.3.1 Uncured Adhesive: The adhe

23、sive, as-received, shall conform to the requirements of this specification and the applicable detail specification; tests shall be performed on the productsupplied and in accordance with specified test methods.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS3695 Page 4 of 133.3.1.1 Color: The adhesive shall have a readily vis

24、ible color, as specified in the applicable detail specification and shown in the applicable preproduction test report.3.3.1.2 Solids Content: Shall be as specified in the applicable detail specification, determined in accordance with ASTM D3529.3.3.1.3 Weight: Shall be as specified in the applicable

25、 detail specification, determined in accordance with ASTM D898.3.3.1.4 Thickness: When specified, thickness shall be determined by micrometer or in accordance withASTM E252.3.3.1.5 Working Life: Shall be not less than the time period specified in the applicable detail specification. Working life is

26、defined as that period of time when the adhesive film is exposed tothe temperature and humidity limits specified in the applicable detail specification after removalfrom refrigerated storage and with the protective separator film removed until the adhesive is reduced to a nonworkable state and the a

27、dhesive is no longer capable of producing bonds of therequired strength.3.3.2 Curing: The adhesive shall cure within the times and temperatures specified in the applicable detail specification. Adhesive curing at different time and temperature combinations will be acceptable atthe option of the purc

28、haser provided that the adhesive, in conjunction with the primer specified inthe applicable detail specification, meets the requirements for that primer/adhesive combination;such adhesive shall be identified with the curing parameters required to produce satisfactoryadhesive bonds.3.3.3 Cured Adhesi

29、ve: The cured adhesive, used in conjunction with the primer specified in the applicable detail specification, shall meet the requirements specified in the applicable detail specification, determined as specified in Table I. Tests shall be conducted on specimens cut from panels prepared in accordance

30、 with 4.5.1.2.3.4 Toxicity and Safety:The adhesive, uncured, during cure, and fully cured shall be nontoxic and shall not be classed as a safety hazard under the definitions in MIL-STD-1472.3.5 Quality:The adhesive, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, clean, smooth (

31、wrinkle or distortion free), homogeneous, and free from contamination or foreign materials andimperfections detrimental to usage of the adhesive.3.6 Size and Tolerances:The film or sheet weight and the corresponding thickness and the width, up to a maximum of 48 in. (1200 mm), shall be as specified

32、in the applicable detail specification or as ordered. Individual rollsshall contain not over 600 sq ft (55 m2), unless otherwise ordered. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:4.1 Responsibility for Inspection: The vendor of the adhesive shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible forperforming all required tests. Results of such tests shall be reported to the

37、 purchaser as required by4.6. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemednecessary to ensure that the adhesive conforms to the requirements of this specification and theapplicable detail specification.4.2 Classification of Tests: 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests: Shal

38、l be as specified in the applicable detail specification and shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Preproduction Tests: Tests to determine conformance to all technical requirements of this specification and the applicable detail specification are classified as preproduction tests and shallbe performe

39、d prior to or on the initial shipment of the adhesive to a purchaser, when a change inmaterial or processing, or both, requires reapproval as in 4.4.2, and when purchaser deems confirmatory testing to be required.4.2.2.1 For direct U.S. Military procurement, substantiating test data and, when reques

40、ted, preproductiontest material shall be submitted to the cognizant agency as directed by the procuring activity, contracting officer, or the request for procurement.4.3 Sampling:Shall be as follows:4.3.1 For Acceptance Tests: Sufficient adhesive shall be taken at random from each lot to permitperfo

41、rming all required tests. The number of tests for each requirement shall be as specified in theapplicable test procedure or, if not specified therein, not less than three.4.3.1.1 A lot shall be all adhesive produced in a single production run from the same batches of rawmaterials and presented for v

42、endors inspection at one time. An inspection lot shall not exceed500 lb (225 kg) and may be packaged and delivered in small quantities under a basic lot approval provided the lot identification is maintained. 4.3.1.2 When a statistical sampling plan and acceptance quality level (AQL) have been agree

43、d upon bypurchaser and vendor, sampling shall be in accordance with such plan in lieu of sampling as in4.3.1 and the report of 4.6.1 shall state that such plan was used.4.3.2 For Preproduction Tests: As agreed upon by purchaser and vendor.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS3695 Page 7 of 134.4 Approval:4.4.1 Samp

44、le adhesive shall be approved by purchaser before adhesive for production use is supplied, unless such approval be waived by purchaser. Results of tests on production adhesive shall beessentially equivalent to those on the approved sample.4.4.2 Vendor shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures,

45、 processes, and methods of inspection onproduction adhesive which are essentially the same as those used on the approved sample adhesive. If necessary to make any change in ingredients, in type of equipment for processing, orin manufacturing procedures, vendor shall submit for reapproval a statement

46、 of the proposedchanges in materials or processing, or both, and, when requested, sample adhesive. Productionadhesive made by the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval.4.5 Test Methods:4.5.1 Specimen Preparation: Each roll or sheet to be sampled shall be allowed to wa

47、rm above the dew point before opening the sealed package for sampling. Immediately after sampling, the roll or sheet shall be resealed and returned to refrigerated storage.4.5.1.1 Uncured Adhesive Tests: Specimens shall be cut from test material and tested immediately after sampling as specified in

48、the applicable test procedure.4.5.1.2 Cured Adhesive Tests, Metal-to-Metal:4.5.1.2.1 Tensile Shear Specimens: Panels shall be 2024-T3 sheet, conforming to AMS 4037 or QQ-A-250/4, as specified in ASTM D3165. All panel components shall be cleaned, treated, andprimed in accordance with the procedure sp

49、ecified in ARP 1524, with the primer applied andcured in accordance with the applicable primer specification and manufacturers instructions.The resultant tensile shear panels shall have the adhesive applied and the panels cured inaccordance with manufacturers instructions. 4.5.1.2.2 Metal-to-Metal Climbing Peel Specimens: Shall be as specified in ASTM D1781. All panel components shall be prepared and panel
