7、ete requirements for procuring the clothdescribed herein shall consist of this document and the latest issue of thebasic specification, AMS 3907.3.2 Properties: Shall conform to the requirements of Table I and the following:3.2.1 Yarn: Shall be spun into singles.3.2.2 Flame Resistance: The flame fro

10、 a good approximation to the standardsample under incanaescent lamplight at 2,850“ Kelvin 100.3.2.3.2 Colorfastness: The dyed and finished cloth shall show colorfastness tolight and to laundering equal to or better than the standard sample.3.2.4 Weave: Shall be a 2 x 2 basket weave.3.2.5 Width: Shal
11、l be not less than 45 in. (1,140 mm) inclusive of theselvages. When the cloth has shuttleless loom selvages, the width of thecloth should be as specified and shall be not less than the width of thewoven cloth, excluding the selvages.3.2.6 Nonfibrous Material: Prior to application of the antistatic f
12、inish, thecloth shall contain not more than 1.0% starch and protein including thechloroform-soluble and water-soluble material.3.2.7 Finishing: Cloth shall be desized, scoured, heat set and given a suitabledurable antistatic finish to meet the requirements of Table I,3.2.7.1 Finishing Procedure: Clo
13、th should be finished by a procedure equivalentto the following:3.2.7.1.1 Scour open width on continuous scouring range at 70C 3 (160F 5)in the scouring solution of 0.14 oz per gal (1.0 g/L) oftrisodiumphosphate and detergent.3.2.7.1.2 Dry at 150C 5 (300F 9) to set construction.3.2.7.1.3 Autoclave h

15、e cloth during drying, ineither direction, such that the warp is raised and the filling isburied, or vice-versa. The calendering, to be uniform and developan uniform sheen on the cloth, shall score or line both warp andfill. If the calender has a polish roll, this should be by-passedor not used.The
16、calender should have a standard bottom roll with a hardness ofR 80 - 84 and a Schreiner roll with a maximum line variation fromthe horizontal (up to 90 degrees).Autoclaving should follow the calendering in sequence to set theeffects of calendering into the cloth.Each finisher should have a standard
17、sample on hand showing thedesired sheen in the finished cloth for comparison with, and forcontrol of, mill production.The calendering conditions, to match the standard, will beapproximately 30 ton (27,215 kg) pressure at 215C 6(425F 19,. The sheen should be checked after calendering andagain after;
18、autoclaving until the required conditions on the millsequipment are defined.The fabric selvage should not be so wide or so thick as to preventthe calendering from developing the desired sheen on the body cloth.3.2.7.1.4 Pad on the antistatic solution:6.6% antistatic material (See 8.2)2.7% accelerato
