SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate from 0.020 to 1.000 inches (0.51 to 25.4 mm) thick (See 8.3).1.2 ApplicationThese produc

3、ts have been used typically for formed parts requiring high strength after heat treatment, but usage is not limited to such applications.1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking after heat treatment; ARP823 recommends

4、practices to minimize such conditions.2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTSThe issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document iss

5、ue is specified. When the referenced document has been cancelled and no superseding document has been specified, the last published issue of that document shall apply._SAE Technical Standards Board Rules provide that: “This report is published by SAE to advance the state of technical and engineering

26、 in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product.3.5 TolerancesShall conform to all applicable requirements of AMS2202.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of the product shall supply al

27、l samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for performing all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the requirements of this specification.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4028H Page 5 of 6

28、4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsTests for composition (3.1) tensile properties as annealed (3.3.1.1) and after solution and precipitation heat treatment (3.3.2.1), and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Periodic TestsTests for bending as a

29、nnealed (3.3.1.2) and after solution and precipitation heat treatment (3.3.2.2) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of t

30、he product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the chemical composition and other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS4028H, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the mill pr

31、oduct form, and the mill produced size.4.4.1 When the product size is outside the ranges covered by 1.1, the report shall contain a statement to that effect.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B

32、 666/B666M.5.2 Protective TreatmentFlat sheet, plate, and circles 12 inches (305 mm) and over in nominal diameter shall be protected during shipment and storage by interleaving with suitable paper sheets. Circles under 12 inches (305 mm) in nominal diameter shall be protected as agreed upon by purch

33、aser and vendor.5.3 PackagingThe product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA ven

34、dor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7.
