SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification cov
6、ers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate from 0.010 to 0.499 inch (0.25 to 12.67 mm), inclusive, in thickness (see 8.4). 1.2 Application This product has been used typically for structural components, including machine tapered parts, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 C
7、ertain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking after heat treatment; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility f
28、or Inspection The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the specified
29、requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties as annealed (3.3.2.1) and after solution heat treatment and aging (3.3.3.1), and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Bending as annealed (
30、3.3.2.2) and after solution heat treatment and aging (3.3.3.2) and cladding thickness (3.3.4) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 31、NATIONAL AMS4077H Page 6 of 7 4.4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition and other acceptance test requirements and when performed, to the periodic test requirements. This report shall include the purchase orde
32、r number, lot number, AMS4077H, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product. 4.4.1 When the product size is outside the range covered by 1.1, the report shall contain a statement to that effect. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shal
33、l be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M. 5.2 Protective Treatment Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by vendor unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical
34、 protective methods include but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surface. 5.3 Packaging The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation
35、 of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Product not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authori
36、zed by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8.
