SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in
6、 the form of sheet and plate clad on two sides. 1.2 Application This specification has been used typically for parts requiring high strength up to 600 F (315 C). These products are also well suited for cryogenic applications and where welding and maximum corrosion resistance are required, but usage
7、is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking after heat treatment; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the perform
29、ance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties as annealed (3.3.1.1) an
30、d after solution and precipitation heat treatment (3.3.2.1), and tolerances (3.5) are classified as acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each lot. 31、4.2.2 Periodic Tests Bending as annealed (3.3.1.2), bending after solution and precipitation heat treatment (3.3.2.2) and cladding thickness (3.3.3) are classified as periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.
32、3 Sampling Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the chemical composition and tolerances showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the o
33、ther acceptance test requirements and stating that the product conforms to the other specified requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS4096C, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the mill product form, and the mill p
34、roduced size. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M. 5.2 Protective Treatment Product shall be protected from damage during storage and shipment by a method determined by the vend
35、or unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical methods include but are not limited to interleafing with paper or oiling of the surface. 5.3 Packaging The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660/B 660M and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertain
36、ing to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase order. 7. REJECTIONS Material not conforming
