5、.3Cu - 0.30Mn - 0.06Ti - 0.10V - 0.18Zr Solution Heat Treated, Cold Worked (8%) and Naturally Aged (2219 -T37) (Composition similar to UNS A92219) RATIONALE AMS4600 is a new specification for 2219-T37 sheet and plate to facilitate cancellation of AMS4295 and AMS-QQ-A-250/30. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This s

6、pecification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate. 1.2 Application This product form has been used typically for structural parts requiring high strength up to 500 F (260 C) after proper precipitation heat treatment and which may require forming or welding during fabrication, but

7、usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of the following documents in effect on th

8、e date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced document has been cancelled and no superseding document has been specified,

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, determined in accordance with AMS2355. 15、te Solution heat treated, cold worked to produce a nominal permanent set of 8%, and naturally aged to temper T37 (See AS1990). 3.2.1.1 Plate shall receive no further straightening operations after stretching. 16、 determined on the mill produced size in accordance with AMS2355. In addition, test specimens in the T37 condition shall not be required to be tested within four days after completion of the heat treatment. If the manufacturer so elects, samples may be tested after less than four days aging, but if

17、they fail to show the specified properties, the test samples may be discarded and additional specimens may be tested after four days aging. These specimens shall be taken from the same locations in the production lot or sample from which the prior specimens were taken. 3.3.1 As Received 3.3.1.1 Tens

21、dition, without the subsequent imposition of cold working or forming operations after precipitation heat treatment in accordance with time and temperature parameters of AMS2770 to -T87 condition, shall have the tensile properties shown in Table 3 (See 8.2). 25、, supplied in the T351 condition, shall show no evidence of stress-corrosion cracking when stressed in the short-transverse direction (perpendicular to grain flow) to 75% of the yield strength shown for that condition in Table 2 (See 8.1) after precipitation heat treatment in accordance with the tim

26、e and temperature parameters of AMS2770 to -T87 condition 3.4 Quality Product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.4.1 When specified, plate shall be subjected to ult

27、rasonic inspection in accordance with ASTM B 594, and shall meet the requirements shown in Table 4. Ultrasonic requirements for plate exceeding 4.500 inches thick shall be agreed upon by purchaser and supplier. 29、1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms

30、 to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), as-received tensile properties (3.3.1.1), precipitation heat treated tensile properties (3.3.2.1), when specified, ultrasonic inspection (3.4.1) and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and except for

31、composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Test Stress-corrosion cracking resistance (3.3.2.2) is a periodic test and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accor

32、dance with AMS2355. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition, tolerances, and ultrasonic testing when specified, and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to t

33、he other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot numbers, condition, AMS4600, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accord

34、ance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M. 5.2 Packaging The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packagi

35、ng, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor shall mention this specification number in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. SAE AMS4600 Page 6 of 6 7. 36、 modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8.
