SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a silver alloy in the form of wire, rod, sheet, strip, foil, pig, powder, shot, and chips and a viscous mixture (paste) of powder in a suitable binder. 1.2 Application This mate
7、rial has been used typically for joining ferrous metals where strength up to 800 F (427 C) for short-time service or up to 500 F (260 C) for long-time service is required, or for nonferrous metals except those having a base of titanium, aluminum or magnesium, but usage is not limited to such applica
8、tions. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the refe

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1. Methods for analysis shall be by spectrochemical methods or by other methods acceptable to purc

14、Shall consist of 55 to 80% by weight powder in a suitable binder and flux combination, unless otherwise specified by purchaser. 3.3 Properties Filler metal shall conform to the following requirements: 3.3.1 Color Shall be white. 3.3.2 Flatness When unrolled, strip and foil shall lie flat with no und
15、ue tendency to recoil. 3.3.3 Paste 3.3.3.1 Paste shall have a shelf life of not less than six months from date of manufacture; not more than thorough mixing shall be required to restore paste for use during that time. 3.3.3.2 Paste without flux shall leave no adherent residue when heated in a protec
16、tive atmosphere to 1000 F (538 C) or higher. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4766H Page 3 of 7 3.4 Quality The product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in color, quality, and condition and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the filler metal. Wire, rod, sheet,
17、strip, and foil shall be clean, sound, bright, and free from slivers, splitting, ragged edges, damaged ends, and other injurious imperfections. Pig, powder, shot, and chips shall have a metallic luster. 3.5 Sizes and Tolerances Shall be supplied in the following standard sizes and to the tolerances

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The producer of the product shall supply all samples for producers tests and shall be responsible for the perfor
29、mance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to the specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests All technical requirements, except properties (3.3), are
30、acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Properties are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the producer unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with the following: 4.3.1 Comp
31、osition For all product except powder, one sample from each lot; for powder, one sample from each furnace charge. 4.3.2 Other Technical Requirements As agreed upon by purchaser and producer. 32、d from a single furnace charge (or melt) which has been tested and found to conform to the requirements of Table 1. 4.3.4 A lot of powder shall be a uniform blend of powder produced from one or more furnace charges, each meeting the requirements of 3.1, and presented for producers inspection at one
33、time. 4.3.5 A lot of paste shall be that paste produced from a single lot of powder combined with binder from the same manufacturing batch and presented for producers inspection at one time. 4.4 Reports The producer of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of test
34、s to determine conformance to the composition requirements and stating that the product conforms to all other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS4766H, form, size, and quantity. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Not applicable. 5. PREPARATION FOR D
35、ELIVERY 5.1 Identification 5.1.1 The product shall be identified as agreed upon by purchaser and producer. 5.1.2 Each exterior container or package shall be permanently and legibly marked with not less than the following information: SILVER ALLOY, BRAZING FILLER METAL AMS4766H LOT NUMBER _ MANUFACTU
36、RERS IDENTIFICATION _ NOMINAL DIMENSIONS _ WEIGHT _ 5.1.2.1 Each container and package of paste shall also be marked with the date of manufacture. 5.2 Packaging 5.2.1 The product shall be suitably wrapped, sealed, and boxed or otherwise packaged for protection against injury and contamination during
37、 shipment and under dry storage conditions. 5.2.2 Packages of filler metal shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the filler metal to ensure carrier acc
38、eptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A producer shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Filler metal not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subj
