SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a corrosion and heat-resistant nickel alloy in the form of sheet, strip, and plate. 1.2 Application These pro

3、ducts have been used typically for parts requiring high strength up to 1500 F (816 C) and oxidation resistance up to 1750 F (954 C), but usage is not limited to such applications. 2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages

14、by weight shown in Table 1, determined by wet chemical methods in accordance with ASTM E 354, by spectrochemical methods, or by other analytical methods acceptable to purchaser. 16、e 1. When measured on sheet and strip under 0.050 inch (1.27 mm) in nominal thickness, boron may be less than 0.003. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS5544K Page 3 of 8 3.1.2 Check Analysis Composition variations shall meet the applicable requirements of AMS2269. 3.2 Melting Practice Alloy shall be produced by m

17、ultiple melting using consumable electrode practice in the remelt cycle or shall be induction melted under vacuum. If consumable electrode remelting is not performed in vacuum, electrodes which have been produced by vacuum induction melting shall be used for remelting. 3.3 Condition The product shal

18、l be supplied in the following condition: 3.3.1 Sheet and Strip Hot-rolled or cold-rolled, annealed, and, unless annealing is performed in an atmosphere yielding a bright finish, descaled having a surface appearance comparable to the following commercial corrosion resistant steel finishes as describ

19、ed in ASTM A 480/A 480M and AS4194 and 3.3.1.1 or 3.3.1.2 as applicable. 3.3.1.1 Sheet No. 2D finish. 3.3.1.2 Strip No. 1 strip finish. 3.3.2 Plate Hot rolled, annealed, and descaled. 3.4 Annealing Except as specified in 3.4.1, the product shall be annealed by heating in a suitable atmosphere to 197

20、5 F 25 (1079 C 14), holding at heat for not more than 30 minutes, and cooling at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster. 3.4.1 Continuous Heat Treating Process parameters (e.g., furnace temperature set points, heat input, travel rate, etc.) for continuous heat treating lines shall be established

21、 by the material producer and validated by testing of product to the other requirements of this specification. 3.5 Properties The product shall conform to the following requirements: 3.5.1 As Annealed 3.5.1.1 Tensile Properties Shall be as shown in Table 2, determined in accordance with ASTM E 8/E 8

Product shall not be rejected on the basis of hardness if the tensile properties of 3.5.1.1 are acceptable, determined on specimens taken from the same sample as that with nonconforming hardness or from another sample with similar nonconforming hardness. 27、90 using a sample prepared nominally 0.75 inch (19.0 mm) in width with its axis of bending parallel to the direction of rolling and shall withstand, without cracking, when bending at room temperature through an angle of 180 degrees around a diameter equal to the bend factor shown in Table 4 times th

28、e nominal thickness of the product. In case of dispute, the results of tests using the guided bend test of ASTM E 290 shall govern. 30、ance shall be as agreed upon by purchaser and vendor (See 8.5). 3.5.2 After Solution, Stabilization, and Precipitation Heat Treatment The product shall have the following properties after being solution heat treated by heating in a suitable protective atmosphere to 1825 F 25 (996 C 14), holding at h

31、eat for 2 hours 0.25, and cooling at a rate equivalent to air cool or faster, stabilization heat treated by heating to 1550 F 15 (843 C 8), holding at heat for 4 hours 0.25, and cooling in air, and precipitation heat treated by heating to 1400 F 15 (760 C 8), holding at heat for 16 hours 1, and cool

32、ing at a rate equivalent to air cooling. 3.5.2.1 Tensile Properties 3.5.2.1.1 At Room Temperature Shall be as shown in Table 5, determined in accordance with ASTM E 8/E 8M. 37、 for thin gages, where superficial hardness testing is impractical, microhardness testing in accordance with ASTM E 384 may be used. Product shall not be rejected on the basis of hardness if the tensile properties of 3.5.2.1 are acceptable, determined on specimens taken from the same sample as that

38、with nonconforming hardness or from another sample with similar nonconforming hardness. 3.5.2.3 Stress-Rupture Properties at 1350 F (732 C) A tensile specimen, maintained at 1350 F 3 (732 C 2) while a load sufficient to produce the initial axial stress shown in Table 7 is applied continuously, shall

39、 not rupture in less than 23 hours. The test shall be continued to rupture without change of load. Elongation after rupture, measured at room temperature, shall be as shown in Table 7. 42、d while test is in progress. Time to rupture and elongation requirements shall be as specified in 3.5.2.3. 3.5.2.3.2 When permitted by purchaser, the test of 3.5.2.3 may be conducted using incremental loading. In such case, a load sufficient to produce the initial axial stress specified in Table 7 s

43、hall be used to rupture or for 23 hours, whichever occurs first. After the 23 hours and at intervals of 8 hours minimum, thereafter, the stress shall be increased in increments of 5 ksi (34.5 MPa). Time to rupture and elongation requirements shall be as specified in 3.5.2.3. 3.6 Quality The product,

44、 as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.7 Tolerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of AMS2262. 45、 PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the pr

46、oduct conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests All technical requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2371. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each

47、shipment a report showing the vendors name and country where the metal was melted (e.g., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations) and the results of tests for composition of each heat, and for annealed tensile properties, hardness, bending, average grain size, and mi

48、crostructure, and for tensile properties, hardness and stress rupture properties after solution, stabilization and precipitation heat treatment of each lot; and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, heat and lot nu

49、mbers, AMS5544K, size, and quantity. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2371. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with AMS2807. 5.2 Packaging The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and tr
