5、uperseding AMS5560M Steel, Corrosion Resistant, Seamless Tubing 19Cr - 10Ni (304) Solution Heat Treated (Composition similar to UNS S30400) RATIONALE AMS5560N revises Fabrication (3.3) to add an option to perform bore conditioning on final product, Quality (3.5, 3.5.2) and Acceptance Tests (4.2.1.1)

6、 to add nondestructive testing requirements and Reports (4.4), and is a Five Year Review and update of this specification. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of seamless tubing. 1.2 Application This tubing has been used typically for parts, such as fl

7、uid-conducting lines, not subjected to high pressure and requiring good corrosion resistance, but usage is not limited to such applications. Welding, brazing, or other exposure to temperatures over 800 F (427 C) during fabrication may impair corrosion resistance. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, determined by wet ch

14、emical methods in accordance with ASTM E353, by spectrochemical methods, or by other analytical methods acceptable to purchaser. 15、.75 Copper - 0.75 3.1.1 Check Analysis Composition variations shall meet the applicable requirements of AMS2248. 3.2 Condition Solution heat treated and unless solution heat treatment is performed in an atmosphere yielding a bright finish, pickled as required or passivated, and descaled. 3.3 Fabrica

16、tion Tubing shall be produced by a seamless process. Any finishing operations to remove pits and surface blemishes shall be performed prior to final solution heat treatment. A light polish to improve external surface appearance may be employed after solution heat treatment and, if performed, the pro

17、duct shall be subsequently passivated in accordance with AMS2700. Bore conditioning is permitted after solution heat treatment provided the tubing is not sized by metal removal methods and the tubing is passivated after any such conditioning (see 8.2.1). 25、ular Attack Specimens from tubing shall be immersed as required by ASTM A262, Practice E. After immersion, tubing shall not exhibit intergranular attack or cracks when tested in accordance with the following: 3.4.3.1 Examination of OD Surface Shall be performed after flattening a 1 inch (25 mm) long

26、 specimen to a total thickness under load of three times the wall thickness. 3.4.3.2 Examination of ID Surface Shall be performed after splitting a 1 inch (25 mm) long specimen and folding the split specimen, with ID surfaces on the outside of fold, around a mandrel having a diameter equal the nomin

27、al wall thickness of the tube. 3.4.3.2.1 Tubing Over 0.625 Inch (15.88 mm) in OD The axis of the fold shall be parallel to the axis of the tube. 3.4.3.2.2 Tubing 0.625 Inch (15.88 mm) and Under in OD The axis of the fold shall be either parallel or transverse to the axis of the tube. 3.5 Quality Tub

28、ing, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition and shall have a finish conforming to the best practice for high quality aircraft tubing. It shall be smooth and free from heavy scale or oxide, burrs, seams, tears, grooves, laminations, slivers, pits, and other imperfections

29、detrimental to usage of the tubing. Surface imperfections such as handling marks, straightening marks, light mandrel and die marks, shallow pits, and scale patterns are acceptable providing their depth does not result in violation of minimum wall thickness requirements and their termination is not s

30、harp when viewed by the naked eye. 3.5.1 Tubing shall be free from grease or other foreign matter. Metallic flakes or particles shall not be collected by a clean, white cloth drawn through the bore of a sample tube. Discoloration of the cloth, without the presence of flakes or particles, is acceptab

31、le. 3.5.2 Tubing shall be subjected to either ultrasonic inspection or to electromagnetic (eddy current) testing in accordance with ASTM A1016 except that suspect indications shall not be accepted based on visual observation, i.e. indications must be either rejected or reconditioned and retested to

32、pass the test. 3.6 Tolerances Shall conform to all applicable requirements of AMS2243. SAE INTERNATIONAL $061 Page 5 of 6 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of tubing shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of

33、all required tests except formability. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the tubing conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties (3.4.1), and t

34、olerances (3.6) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable. 4.2.1.1 Nondestructive testing (3.5.2) shall be performed on each finished tube to assure the requirements of 3.5 are met. This requirement shall become effective September 1, 2016. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Fl

35、arability (3.4.2), and susceptibility to intergranular attack (3.4.3) are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2371 and the following: 4.3.1 Specimens

36、 for flarability test (3.4.2) shall be full tubes or sections cut from a tube. The end of the specimen to be flared shall be cut square, with the cut end smooth and free from burrs, but not rounded. 4.4 Reports The vendor of tubing shall furnish with each shipment a report showing WKHYHQGRUVQDPHDQGF

37、RXQWUZKHUHWKHPHWDOwas melted (e.g., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations) and the results of tests for composition of each heat and for tensile properties of each lot, and stating that the tubing conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall incl

38、ude the purchase order number, heat and lot numbers, AMS5560N, size, and quantity. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2371. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Sizes Except when exact lengths or multiples of exact lengths are ordered, tubing will be acceptable in mill lengths of

39、 6 to 20 feet (1.8 to 6.1 m) but not more than 10% of any shipment shall be supplied in lengths shorter than 10 feet (3 m). 5.2 Identification Shall be in accordance with AMS2807. 5.3 Packaging Tubing shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applic

40、able rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the tubing to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. SAE INTERNATIONAL $061 Page 6 of 6 6. 41、acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Tubing not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8.
