6、ed condition.1. SCOPE1.1 FormThis specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel product in the solution and precipitation heat treated (H1100) condition.1.1.1 The aged product may be supplied directly by a mill or by a producer other than the mill. The latter would be accomplished by precipitatio

7、n heat treatment of solution treated material previously certified to AMS5643. The entity assuming responsibility for the aging operation is designated the producer of AMS5643/H1100.1.2 ApplicationThese products have been used typically for parts requiring corrosion resistance and high strength up t

8、o 600 F (316 C) but usage is not limited to such applications (See 8.1).2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTSThe issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a docum

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS3.1 CompositionShall be in accordance with AMS5643.3.2 ConditionShall be in accordance with AMS5643, and the following:3.2.1 The product shall be supplied in the precipitation hardened (H1100) heat treat condition.3.2.2 If st

13、raightening is performed after precipitation hardening heat treatment, product shall be stress relieved by heating to 1000 F ( 566C) and soaking for at least one hour plus one hour additional for each inch (25 mm) of thickness or fraction thereof greater than 1 inch (25 mm). When load thermocouples

14、are used, the soaking time shall be at least one hour.3.3 Heat TreatmentShall be in accordance with AMS5643 and the following:3.3.1 Precipitation Heat Treatment3.3.1.1 Shall be in accordance with the requirements applicable to either AMS-H-6875 or AMS2759/3 at the vendors option, except acceptance t

15、esting and criteria shall be as specified in 3.4.1.3. Precipitation heat treatment furnaces shall have Type B instrumentation in accordance with AMS2750.3.3.1.2 When the product is precipitation heat treated by an entity other than the mill producer of the AMS5643-certified product, the heat treatme

16、nt source shall be accredited by a recognized industry agency for stainless steel heat treatment acceptable to the purchaser.3.4 Properties3.4.1 All products shall conform to the following requirements:3.4.1.1 MacrostructureShall be in accordance with AMS5643.3.4.1.2 MicrostructureShall be in accord

17、ance with AMS5643.3.4.1.3 Tensile PropertiesShall be in accordance with the following:SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS5643/H1100 Page 3 of 43.4.1.3.1 Bars:Product, 8 inches (203 mm) and under in nominal diameter, thickness or for hexagons, least distance between parallel sides, and having a maximum cross-secti

18、onal area of 64 square inches (413 sq cm) shall be as shown in Table 3. Properties for larger sizes shall be as agreed upon between purchaser and vendor. 20、453.4.1.3.2 All other product forms:The property requirements of 3.4.1.3.1 shall apply. Test plans shall be as agreed upon between vendor and purchaser.3.4.1.3.3 When the ultimate tensile strength exceeds 170 ksi, one additional aging cycle may be performed. The set temperature for the additional ag

21、ing may be higher than 1100 F (621 C), but not more than 25 F (14 C) higher. The soaking time shall be not more than the original precipitation heat treatment cycle. 3.4.1.3.4 When the tensile properties as specified in Table 3 are not met, it is permissible to again perform solution heat treatment

22、in accordance with AMS5643 and precipitation heat treatment to the requirements specified in 3.3, and retest.3.4.1.4 HardnessNot Applicable3.5 QualityShall be in accordance with AMS5643.3.6 TolerancesShall be in accordance with AMS5643.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for Inspection

23、The vendor shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. Applicable acceptan

24、ce test data generated for prior certification to AMS5643 need not be repeated for certification to AMS5643/H1100.4.2 Classification of TestsShall be in accordance with AMS5643 and the following:SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS5643/H1100 Page 4 of 44.2.1 Acceptance Tests4.2.1.1 Tensile properties (3.4.1.3) and

25、 tolerances (3.6) are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each lot.4.2.2 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS5643.4.2.2.1 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS5643.4.3 Reports4.3.1 Material provided by a producing mill:The vendor of product shall furnish with

26、each shipment a report showing the vendors name and country where the metalwas melted (e.g., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations) and the results of tests for composition and macrostructure rating of each heat and for tensile properties of each lot, and stating t

27、hat the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, heat and lot numbers, AMS5643/H1100, type of melting practice used, details of the precipitation heat treatment used (including, if straightened, the subsequent stress relief cycle), si

28、ze, and quantity. If the product size being shipped is different from the nominal metallurgically worked cross-sectional size, details of how the shipped size was extracted from the larger product shall be reported.4.3.2 Product from other than a producing mill using material previously certified to

29、 AMS5643:The vendor of product shall furnish with each shipment the original mill certification of the AMS5643 product and the H1100 heat treatment process certification and test report, including traceability to accreditation of the precipitation heat treat facility (See 3.3.1.2).5. PREPARATION FOR

30、 DELIVERYShall be in accordance with AMS5643.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTShall be in accordance with AMS5643.7. REJECTIONSShall be in accordance with AMS5643.8.
