5、d 2012-04 Revised 2016-06Superseding AMS5866D Steel, Corrosion-Resistant, Flat Wire 18Cr - 9.0Ni (302) Spring Temper (Composition similar to UNS S30200)RATIONALE AMS5866E introduces a new class of product to cover square-edged wire (1.3), and revises Properties (3.3.1, Tables 2, 3), Dimensions and T

6、olerances (3.5.1.2), and Reports (4.4). 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of flat wire 0.005 to 0.095 inch (0.13 to 2.41 mm) thick, inclusive (see 8.6). 1.2 Application This wire has been used typically for retaining rings requiring corrosion and hea

7、t-resistance up to 400 F (204 C) and which require moderate to severe forming and bending, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.3 Classification Wire covered by this specification is classified by edge configuration as follows: Type 1 Round edged wire Type 2 Square edged wire. 1.3.1 Type

8、 1 shall be supplied unless Type 2 is specified by purchaser (see 8.6). 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS The issue of the following documents in effect on the date of the purchase order forms a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. 24、rfections detrimental to usage of the wire. 3.4.1 Wire shall have a bright, smooth, cold drawn or rolled surface free from pits, abrasions, and other surface imperfections. Wire for coiling on automatic spring winding machines shall be furnished with a lubricating coating suitable for such purpose.

25、3.4.2 All welds made on coiled or spooled wire shall be marked and the method of marking shall be specified on the spool, label, or tag. Straightened or flattened cut lengths shall have no welds. 3.5 Dimensions and Tolerances 3.5.1 Edges 3.5.1.1 Type 1 wire shall have commercial round edges as shown

26、 in Figure 1 and maximum camber shall be 0.5 inch in 8 feet (12.7 mm in 2.4 m). QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The producer of wire shall supply all samples for producers tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all r

34、equired tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the wire conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests All technical requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applica

35、ble. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2371. 4.4 Reports The producer of wire shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the producers name and country where the metal was melted (e.g., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations), and the re

36、sults of tests for composition of each heat and for tensile properties and hardness of each lot. This report shall include the purchase order number, heat and lot numbers, AMS5866E, size, and quantity. 4.4.1 When the product size is outside the range covered by Tables 2 and 3, the report shall conta

37、in a statement to that effect. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2371. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Each coil, spool, drum, or box shall be legibly marked, using a durable label or tag, with not less than the purchase order number, AMS5866E, heat and lot n

38、umbers, nominal size, net weight, and manufacturers identification. SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS5866E Page 7 of 7 5.2 Packaging 5.2.1 Wire shall be rolled into coil form. Coils shall be individually wrapped in waterproof paper or packed in waterproof drums. Spools, when ordered, shall be boxed. 5.2.2 The w

39、ire shall not be tangled and shall unroll freely. 5.2.3 Wire shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the wire to ensure carrier acceptance and safe deliv

40、ery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A producer shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Wire not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8. NOTES 8.1
