6、te control on tensile testing (3.3.1.1) and revises reporting (4.4) and identification (5.1). 1. SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers electrical iron in the form of bar, sheet, strip, and plate. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for direct current devices, such as controls,

7、 relay and regulator parts, magnetic cores, and motor and generator parts requiring a combination of high electrical conductivity, high magnetic saturation and permeability, and low magnetic retentivity, and where fair formability is required, but usage is not limited to such applications. 2. APPLIC

The supplier may work to a subsequent revision of a document unless a specific document issue is specified. When the referenced document

14、 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Composition Shall conform to the percentages by weight shown in Table 1, determined by wet chemical methods in accordance with ASTM A751, by spectrochemical methods, or by other analytical methods acceptable to purchaser. 16、uirements; hardness and tensile testing shall be determined in accordance with ASTM A370: 3.3.1 Tensile Properties Shall be as shown in Table 2. 17、ax 55 ksi (380 MPa) Elongation in 2 inches (50.8 mm) or 4D, min 25% 3.3.1.1 Unless otherwise specified, the strain rate shall be set at 0.005 inch/inch/minute (0.005 mm/mm/minute) and maintained within a tolerance of 0.002 inch/inch/minute (0.002 mm/mm/minute) through 0.2% offset yield strain. After

18、 the yield strain, the speed of the testing machine shall be set between 0.05 and 0.5 inch/inch (mm/mm) of the length of the reduced section (or distance between the grips for specimens not having a reduced section) per minute. Alternatively, an extensometer and strain rate indicator may be used to

19、set the strain rate between 0.05 and 0.5 inch/inch/min (mm/mm/minute). 3.3.2 Hardness Shall be not higher than shown in 3.3.2.1 or Table 3, or equivalent (see 8.2). Product shall not be rejected on the basis of hardness if the tensile property requirements are acceptable, determined on specimens tak

22、ed upon by purchaser and purchaser (see 8.5). 3.4 Quality The product, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 23、be as follows: 3.5.1 Bars In accordance with AMS2231. 3.5.2 Sheet, Strip, and Plate In accordance with AMS2232. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The producer of the product shall supply all samples for producerrs tests and shall be responsible for the performance of

24、all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests All technical requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as

25、 applicable. 4.3 Sampling Shall be in accordance with AMS2370. 4.4 Reports 4.4.1 The purchaser of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the results of tests for the composition of each heat and for tensile properties, hardness, magnetic properties including the annealing cycl

26、e used (if specified), and bending and forming properties (if specified) of each lot, and stating that the product conforms to the other technical requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, heat and lot numbers, AMS7707E, product form and size (and/or part number if applicabl

27、e), and quantity. 4.4.2 When material produced to this specification is beyond the sizes allowed in the scope or tables, or other exceptions are taken to the technical requirements listed in Section 3, (see 5.1) the report shall contain a statement “This material is certified as AMS7707E(EXC) becaus

28、e of the following exceptions:“ and the specific exceptions shall be listed. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting Shall be in accordance with AMS2370. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification When technical exceptions are taken (see 4.4.2), the material shall be marked with AMS7707E(EXC). 5.1.1 Bars I

29、n accordance with AMS2806. 5.1.2 Sheet, Strip, and Plate In accordance with AMS2807. 30、actice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A purchaser shall include this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and

31、when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Product not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection. 8.
