SCOPE: This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides guidance for the design and location of flight attendant stations, including emergency equipment installations at or near such stations, so as to enable the flight attendant to function effectively in emergency situations, i

3、ncluding emergency evacuations. Recommendations regarding design of flight attendant stations apply to all such stations; recommendations regarding location apply to those stations located near or adjacent to floor level exits. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS: The following publications form a part of this

4、document to the extent specified herein. The latest issue of SAE publications shall apply. The applicable issue of other publications shall be the issue in effect on the date of the purchase order. In the event of conflict between the text of this document and references cited herein, the text of th

RECOMMENDATIONS: The following recommendations apply to the design and location of flight attendant stations, including related equipment and systems. 3.1 Flight attendant stations shall be located so that flight atten

15、dants can assist cabin occupants with rapid egress during an emergency evacuation, and can respond to in-flight emergencies. 3.2 At least one flight attendant station shall be located near each floor level exit to ensure that the flight attendant can access the exit, assess the outside conditions, a

16、nd initiate evacuation within 15 seconds. Another location is acceptable if the emergency egress of passengers would be enhanced with that location. 3.2.1 To the extent possible without compromising proximity to a required floor level exit, flight attendant stations shall be located so as to provide

17、 restrained flight attendants with a maximum direct view of the cabin for surveillance (Reference 14 CFR 25.785 and AC 25.785-1). 3.2.2 In addition, means shall be provided in the immediate vicinity of the flight attendant station to assist an unrestrained flight attendant with visual assessment of

18、the area outside of the associated exit. 3.3 Legible “No Smoking and/or Fasten Seat Belt” signs, other required illuminated signs, and call light indicators shall be in full view of the flight attendant(s) occupying any station. The signs and lights shall be visible under all lighting conditions dur

19、ing normal operation. 3.4 Emergency equipment required to perform emergency duties shall be positioned proximate to the flight attendant station except that another location is acceptable if the safety of passengers and crew would be enhanced by that location, e.g. fire extinguishers located near ga

20、lleys and lavatories. Emergency equipment shall be placed in the same location at all flight attendant stations with the same configuration. Emergency equipment that shall be readily accessible to a seated flight attendant is a personal flotation device, primary oxygen and a flashlight. Equipment sh

21、all not be located above the head of the seated flight attendant unless the installation is designed to preclude this equipment from dislodging during emergency landing, flight, ground or turbulent loading conditions. 3.5 When a flight attendant station requires a communication device, such as a mic

22、rophone, for intercommunication, public address and evacuation alarm systems, the device shall be accessible by a restrained flight attendant. 3.6 Equipment located at or near the flight attendant station shall be secured so that access to and release of the equipment from its security means can be

23、accomplished with one hand and a self-apparent motion or action. 24、attendant station shall be designed and located so as not to obstruct access to or restrict full operation of an emergency exit or impede occupant progress to or through an exit. 3.8 The flight attendant station shall be located and configured so that an incapacitated flight attendant can be rapidly

25、 extricated from the flight attendant seat and removed from the aircraft without a significant delay or impediment to evacuation. 3.9 Flight attendant stations shall be designed and located such that head strike is eliminated. Any proximate projecting object that would injure seated flight attendant

26、s shall be padded. (Reference 14 CFR 25.785) In lieu of padding adequate radii are also acceptable. 3.10 The respective locations of aft-facing flight attendant seats and the closest forward-facing passenger seats, of attendant-to-attendant opposing seats and of an attendant seat facing any structur

27、e shall be determined in accordance with AC 25-785-1. 3.11 The recommended minimum light levels provided in the vicinity of the flight attendant station seat shall be the same as the recommended minimum light values for “seats” as provided in AIR512 Appendix A. 3.12 All flight attendant station seat

28、s on a particular aircraft shall have the same type of restraint system. 3.13 There should be a means to protect the flight attendant station from weather (rain, snow) while the airplane is on the ground. 4.
