17、gh there are many different manufacturers, the basic function of the deicer remains the same. The deicing equipment shall satisfy the general safety requirements, as appropriately, set down in the following SAE Aerospace Recommended Practices.- ARP1971 Aircraft Deicing Vehicle - Self-propelled, Larg

19、PRIMARY FUNCTIONThe primary function of the vehicle is to apply deicing/anti-icing fluid from variable heights to the surfaces of aircraft while driving around the perimeter. Warning: Do not drive a deicing vehicle above 6 km/h (4 mph) when boom is in the raised position. Refer to the manufacturers

20、and local authorities specifications.NOTE: Manufacturers operating specifications and regulatory requirements may be different than those shown here.CAUTION: Combustion heaters and trucks should not be operated in confined or poorly ventilated areas to prevent asphyxiation.CAUTION: The operator shal

EQUIPMENT EMERGENCY PROCEDURESShould a control valve fail or the need arises for a basket/cabin or the truck operator to halt boom movement, acti

36、vate the EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH at the basket/cabin, the ground control station, or in the truck cab/basket/cabin.Should a fire start in the auxiliary engine compartment, where equipped with an automatic fire suppression system, the fire suppression system will put out the fire and shut off the engin

37、e. For manual fire suppression systems, pulling a safety pin and striking a button can manually activate the system. For equipment without a fire suppression system, the emergency stop switch shall be depressed, and a portable fire extinguisher shall be utilized to extinguish a fire. Once any fire e

38、xtinguisher or fire suppression system has been used/activated, maintenance will have to recharge/replace any extinguishing equipment, reset fire suppression systems (where quipped), and determine the cause of the fire before the truck can be put back into service.Should the auxiliary engine or the

39、hydraulic pump fail, using the EMERGENCY HYDRAULIC PUMP while operating the hydraulic controls can move the booms. Check manufacturers specifications for locations.Should the basket/cabin operator become disabled, the booms can be operated from the lower control station.SAE INTERNATIONAL AS6286/2 Pa

40、ge 12 of 15In the event of an aircraft emergency, the flight crew shall contact the ground crew by VHF radio or through interphone. The flight crew will flash the aircraft landing, taxi, turn lights, or other exterior lights on and off to immediately alert groundpersonnel. All ground crew personnel

41、and equipment shall cease deicing/anti-icing operations, and proceed away from the aircraft into the equipment safety zone in order to permit emergency equipment an unobstructed approach to the aircraft. Visual contact should remain with the flight deck. Ground crew personnel shall remain on standby

42、 and be ready to assist with possible passenger evacuation if required. In the event of evacuation, flight crew shall illuminate all exterior aircraft lighting.In the event of an equipment emergency it must be possible to evacuate and escape.Also refer to manufacturers recommendations and local airp

49、form the deicing operation. These vehicles range from small to large, from open basket to closed cabin, from a one-man operated to a two-man operated, from fixed spray nozzlesto extended boom nozzles, from movable units to fixed units, etc. The vehicles have been developed for specific tasks at specific regions.
