These standards are published by RMA-MPTA (Rubber Manufacturers Association - MechanicalPower Transmission Association); ISO (International

The grooves in those standards differ from each other in the reference dimensions, and they are not interchangeable with SAE grooves, which are standardized for engine accessory drives ascovered in SAE J636 and J1459.1.1 Pu

General Drive Layout Considerations3.1 Belt SpeedIt is recommended that the pulley diameter

10、s be as large as possible without exceeding 50 m/sbelt speed.COPYRIGHT Society of Automotive Engineers, Inc.SAE J1596 Issued JUN89-2-3.2 Pulley SizesThe inside pulleys should never be smaller than the tension pulley diameter specified in Tables1 and 2 of this standard; however, belt life is directly

11、 related to pulley diameter. A more practical minimumpulley diameter, for increased belt life, would be 50 mm. (See 3.5 for backside pulley diameterrecommendations.)3.3 Belt LengthThe calculation of the belt effective length (E.L.) for a specific drive involves several designconsiderations, includin

12、g provision for adequate installation and take-up.To allow for belt installation and take-up, one pulley should be adjustable from its initial position with the meanlength belt at installation tension. This formula gives the minimum allowance for easy installation of the beltwithout prying or otherw

13、ise forcing it over the sides of the grooves.3.3.1 The following formula can be used to calculate the recommended minimum belt E.L. for installation:“K“ Section: Inside pulleysMin. Belt E.L.= 1.003(L1)+L2+.77+6.28(h)“K“ Section: Flat backside pulleyMin. Belt E.L. = 1.003(L1)+L2+6.28(h)“L“ Section: I
