2、ew policy. 1. SCOPE This SAE Information Report lists the method which outside sources will follow when submitting documents for origination or review by the SAE CONAG Council. 2. REFERENCES There are no referenced publications specified herein. 3. REQUIREMENTS All documents shall contain the follow
3、ing parts: 3.1 Statement of Reason (Rationale) 3.1.1 Why is it desired to have an SAE Technical Report (Recommended Practice or Standard)? 3.1.2 What is anticipated to be gained by the availability of such a document? 3.1.3 List all documents that cover the subject of prime interest that would be us
4、eful in developing a SAE document. 3.2 Composition Requirement of the Proposal 3.2.1 Sponsor If the request is accompanied by a proposal, the name of any group(s) or committee(s) which formed or reviewed the proposal shall be included in the statement. _ SAE Technical Standards Board Rules provide t
5、hat: “This report is published by SAE to advance the state of technical and engineering sciences. The use of this report is entirely voluntary, and its applicability and suitability for any particular use, including any patent infringement arising therefrom, is the sole responsibility of the user.”

9、 to the composition of the technical report, the proposal shall be organized in the manner detailed in TSB002, Preparation of SAE Technical Reports, including the following: a. TitleAs concise and descriptive as possible. b. ScopeShould briefly give the extent of treatment and applicability of the d
10、ocument. c. PurposeShould explain the objectives to be obtained by use of the report. d. ReferencesCan be lists including referenced documents, terminology, abbreviations, definitions, and symbols used in the document. If there are no references, the phrase “Not Applicable“ or “There are no referenc
11、ed publications specified herein“ may be used. e. Test Procedures (if applicable). f. Dimensional DataIncluding tables and charts. g. Performance Requirements (where applicable). h. Component Materials, Mechanical and Physical Properties. i. Appendices: Supplemental material which clarifies or enhan
12、ces the proposal should be included in this section. j. Numbering System: 1. New ReportsParagraphs are to be numbered using the decimal system. The report should be printed in a manner that is readily readable by using suitable indents and left margins. It is recommended that double spacing be used
13、where it improves readability. 2. Revised ReportsSection revised to be appropriately identified. Section to be double spaced, where improved readability is provided, having deleted portion lined out (/) and new portion underscored. 3. Tables, Charts, and IllustrationsThese shall be titled, numbered
14、consecutively, and referenced in the appropriate sections. 4. DimensioningThis shall follow good engineering practices and shall use S.I. Units (System International - Metric System). See also SAE J916. 3.2.3 Use of Basic Terms a. Surface Vehicle or MachineThe term surface vehicle or machine is pref
15、erred to automotive for use in identifying technical reports which do not apply to the aerospace industry. b. VehicleThe term vehicle pertains to self-propelled devices for carrying passengers, goods, or equipment; a car, bus, truck, or boat. c. MachineThe term machine pertains to self-propelled or
16、mobile devices designed to alter or transmit energy and force for the performance or useful work; a tractor, loader, grader, ditcher, or combine. 17、e SAE Staff Engineer for the SAE CONAG Council at: SAE International 400 Commonwealth Drive Warrendale, PA 15096-0001 3.3.2 The SAE Staff Engineer shall send the request to the Vice-Chairperson of the CONAG Council, at the same time advising the Chairperson and Members of the CONAG Council of the ex
18、istence of the request. The SAE Staff Engineer should insure that the report is in SAE format before sending it to the Vice-Chairperson of the CONAG Council. 3.3.3 The Vice-Chairperson of CONAG Council shall: a. Review the material; b. Forward the appropriate material simultaneously to the CONAG Cou
19、ncil for its approval and appropriate CONAG Council Technical Committee(s) for review, comment, and possible action; c. If in the opinion of the CONAG Council Vice-Chairperson the material is not appropriate for an SAE project, he shall seek the advise of the CONAG Council Executive Committee; d. No
20、tify the requester of the action that has been taken. 3.3.4 The CONAG Council Technical Committee, after CONAG Council approval of the project, shall undertake the necessary steps to act on the request or proposal. The request or proposal may be assigned to an appropriate CONAG Council Technical Com
21、mittee or Subcommittee or a new task force with special expertise may be established to act upon the request. The Chairperson of the assigned group shall invite the requester to participate with the group working on his request. 3.3.5 The SAE Staff Engineer for the SAE CONAG Council shall be charged
22、 with keeping a record of the status of the proposal, and should periodically provide information to the requesting body, SAE CONAG Council Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and Members as to the status of the proposal. 4.
