ESSENTIAL PROJECT SPECIFICATION CLAUSES Set out suitable clauses in Portion 2 of the project specification ta provide essential information as follows: a) (Subclause 8.3.5) Warn the contractor of the existence of services if their presence is n
8、ot self-evident. b) (Subclause 3.2.1) Specify the density of compaction required for embankments if avoidance of the settlement specified in 3.2.1 of SABS 1200 DA is not sufficient. ESSENTIAL DATA The availability of certain essential data may affect the prices tendered. Except where such data have
9、been given in the schedule or in the tender drawings, set out suitable clauses covering items such as the following in Portion 2 of the project specification: a) (Subclause 5.1.3) Provide clear drawings showing location of all manholes, valve boxes and the like. b) (Subclauses 5.1.6 and 5.2.1) Desig
10、nate sites for disposal/depositing of material. c) (Subclause 5.2.2) If so required, state that the contractor is to excavate to provide working space for forms for concrete. d) (Subclause 5.2.2) Designate the location of borrow pits, if any, and schedule them. e) (Subclause 5.2.2) Where permanent c
11、oncrete is to be placed against a trimmed excavation surface, describe the nature of or state the tolerance for acceptable projections into the excavation profile. f) (Subclause 5.2.5.2) Specify the final thickness of topsoil if it is to be other than 75 mm . g) (Subclauses 5.2.5.3 and 5.2.5.4) Sche
12、dule and specify the type and give details of vegetation, or pitching, if any, that is required. h) (Subclause 5.2.6.1) Clearly indicate the limits and quantities of the appli- cable operation so that all haulage will be freehaul, or state for which of the operations overhaul will apply and give the
13、 relevant freehaul distance(s) for such operations. i) (Subclause 6.1) Give the degree of accuracy if it is to be other than Degree 111. j) (Subclause 8.3.4) Designate the sources of imported materials. ADDITIONAL CLAUSES GENERAL. Where it is necessary to amplify or otherwise to vary the terms of SA
14、BS 1200 DA to render them suitable for use in projects to be carried out in par- ticular locations or under particular circumstances, include in Portion 2 of the project specification clauses dealing with matters other than those covered by Clauses 1 and 2. (See also Subclause 1.3 of Section A of Pa
15、rt 3 of the code.) NORMAL PROJECTS NOTE: To meet requirements imposed by various norms of economic development, pro- jects are classified as normal, prestige, sub-economic, and labour-based projects (see Clause 4 of the Introduction to Part 3 of the code). 16、ineers pre-tender investigations make it clear that fdditional lateral support will be necessary, state the problem and define the locality. Schedule such support separately and include a clause such as the following: PSDA 1.1 Additional lateral support (Subclause 5.1.1.2). The Contractor shall prov
17、ide additional lateral support between and , for the existing sewer. 18、s ade- quate for preserving the stabitity of the existing sewer. PSDA 7.2 Dealing with saturated conditions (Subclause 5.1.4). The Contractor shall provide catchwater drains in and around the major excavations to control surface water. Such drains shall be self-draining or, alternatively, shall lead
19、 to sumps equipped with pumps of adequate capacity. Protection of Structures (Subclause 5.1.2). Where it is expected that an excavation may endanger an existing structure, set out the requirements in a clause such as the following: PSDA 2.1 Construction precautions in respect of existing tank (Subcl
20、ause 5.1.2). The Contractors attention is drawn to his responsibility, in terms of Subclause 5.1.2 of SABS 1200 DA, for shoring the existing tank before work commences in the vicinity and for reshoring, as necessary, during the towering of the ground level for the foundations of the new structure.
