、nd purchasers of pantihose or knee-highs C.1 Pantihose or knee-highs that comply with the requirements of this standard have been produced by the use of the following: C.1.1 Yarns The yarns have a crimp rigidity3)of not less than 48 % and are of the following linear densities: a) for normal qualitie
、s: 1) for the panty section of pantihose: 33 dtex f 10; and 2) for the legs: 17 dtex f 5 or 20 dtex f 7; b) for heavier qualities: 1) for the panty section of pantihose: 44 dtex f 13; and 2) for the legs: 33 dtex f 10. C.1.2 Structure Micromesh structure is used in the panty part of pantihose. (This
、 provides greater widthwise extensibility than a plain jersey fabric.) C.1.3 Sewing thread The sewing threads used are continuous-filament synthetic threads of a linear density sufficient to give the required seam strength and extensibility. C.2 When the required extensibility and dimensions of pant
、ihose cannot be otherwise attained, the sewing-in of one of the following types of gusset is recommended: a) for normal sizes: a gusset of suitable dimensions and that is sewn in at the crotch; and b) for the larger sizes: a panel gusset, i.e. either 1) a long gusset with parallel sides that extends
、 over half of the crotch length at the back of the pantihose, or 2) a full panel gusset that extends over the whole of the crotch length (front to back). C.3 The finishing procedure, known as “semi-boarding“, increases the resistance to snagging, improves the appearance, and preserves elasticity. C.4 In the case of extra super large pantihose, this size has been subdivided into two types, which differ in terms of the dimensions of the panty section (see tab
