11、of 21 types of wrought copper-zinc alloys. Amdt 1 NOTE a) The standards referred to in this part of the specification are listed in appendix A. b) A requirement that must be specified by the purchaser is noted in appendix B. 2 Definitions 2.1 For the purposes of this part of the specification the fo

14、mply with the requirements given in table 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (as relevant) appropriate to the alloy designation specified by the purchaser. Amdt 1; amdt 2 4 Packing and marking 4.1 Packing The product shall be so packed as to be protected from damage during normal transportation and storage. Only items of the same nominal comp

23、osition and dimensions and from the same batch shall be packed together in a bundle or bulk container. Amdt 1 4.2 Marking The following information shall be given in legible and durable markings on each item, or on a label securely attached to each bundle or bulk container: a) manufacturers name or

24、trade name or trade mark; SANS 1303-1:2008 Edition 1.2 7 b) the alloy designation; c) the batch identification. 5 Sampling and compliance with part 1 of the specification NOTE This section applies to the sampling for inspection and testing before acceptance or rejection of single lots (consignments)

25、 in cases where no information about the implementation of quality control or testing during manufacture is available to help in assessing the quality of the lot. It is also used as the procedure for adjudicating in cases of dispute. 5.1 Sampling The following sampling procedure shall be applied in

26、determining whether a lot complies with the relevant requirements of this part of the specification. The sample so taken shall be deemed to represent the lot. From the lot take at random a sufficient number of items for chemical analysis. Amdt 1 5.2 Compliance with part 1 of the specification The lo

27、t shall be deemed to comply with the requirements of this part of the specification if after chemical analysis of the sample taken in accordance with 5.1, no defective is found. 6 Methods of test 6.1 Chemical analysis Use any acceptable methods to analyse the sample taken in accordance with 5.1 but

28、in cases of dispute use the methods given in ASTM E 478. Amdt 2 6.2 Dezincification resistance of brass designated Cu Zn 36 Pb 2 (table 5). Use the method described in SANS 6509.
