9、 1371:2008 Edition 1.2 3 Ceramic hollow insulators for standard transformer bushings 1 Scope 1.1 This standard covers ceramic hollow insulators for use in standard transformer bushings covered by SANS 1037. NOTES a) The standards referred to in this standard are listed in appendix A. b) Requirements

10、 that must be specified by the purchaser are given in appendix B. c) Information regarding the verification of the quality of ceramic hollow insulators produced to this standard and a sampling plan that could be used to assess compliance with the standard of a lot of hollow insulators are given in a

11、ppendix C. 2 Definition acceptable acceptable to the authority administering this standard or to the parties concluding the purchase contract as relevant Amdt 1 3 Requirements 3.1 Type A hollow insulator shall be of one of the types given in figures 1 to 6.1)3.2 Shape and dimensions 3.2.1 The shape

12、of a hollow insulator shall be in accordance with the drawing or data sheet of the hollow insulator and shall, in general, conform to one of the typical designs given in figures 1 to 6, appropriate to the type designation of the insulator. 3.2.2 The dimensions of a hollow insulator shall not differ

13、from those given on the drawing or in the data sheet of the hollow insulator by more than the relevant tolerance given in SANS 62155. Amdt 1; amdt 2 3.2.3 The faces on a hollow insulator and, when relevant, on its insulator cup that are intended to form part of the oil seal on the partition on which

14、 the bushing is to be mounted shall be at right angles to the axis of the hollow insulator and, when relevant, to the axis of the insulator cup. 1) See appendix B. SANS 1371:2008 Edition 1.2 4 3.2.4 The surface of the conical portion, if any, of the bore of a hollow insulator shall be at an angle of

15、 25 - 30 to the axis of the hollow insulator. 3.3 Material A hollow insulator shall be of ceramic material. Any insulator cup associated with the hollow insulator shall be of ceramic or acceptable organic material. 3.4 Freedom from porosity A hollow insulator shall comply with the requirements for f

16、reedom from porosity given in SANS 62155. Amdt 1; amdt 2 3.5 Glaze A hollow insulator shall comply with the requirements for glaze given in SANS 62155. Amdt 1; amdt 2 3.6 High voltage withstand When tested in accordance with 5.2, a hollow insulator shall withstand, without puncture or damage, the ap

17、propriate test voltage. 3.7 Resistance to temperature cycling A hollow insulator shall comply with the requirements for resistance to temperature cycling given in SANS 62155. Amdt 1; amdt 2 4 Packing and marking 4.1 Packing Hollow insulators shall be so packed in containers that they are protected f

18、rom damage during normal handling and transportation. 4.2 Marking The following information shall appear in legible and indelible marking on each hollow insulator of types R, S and T, and on the air end of each hollow insulator of types other than types R, S and T: The manufacturers name, trade name

19、 or trade mark. 5 Inspection and method of test 5.1 Inspection Visually examine and measure each hollow insulator in the sample for compliance with all the relevant requirements of the standard, compliance which is not assessed by testing. 20、 Place the hollow insulator, which must be clean and dry, in a hole in an earthed metal plate, the diameter of the hole being as specified in SANS 1037 for the appropriate bushing assembly. If the hollow insulator is intended for use with one end or both ends immersed in an insulating medium, immers

21、e the shorter end in insulating oil that complies with the requirements of SANS 555, to a depth sufficient to prevent flashover. Insert a suitable metal stem conductor and apply to the stem for a continuous period of not less than 1 min an a.c. voltage sufficient to produce occasional flashover, the

26、Amdt 1 SANS 62155/IEC 62155, Hollow pressurized and unpressurized ceramic and glass insulators for use in electrical equipment with rated voltages greater than 1 000 V. Amdt 2 Appendix B Notes to purchasers The following requirements must be specified in tender invitations and in each order or contr

27、act: a) the type of hollow insulator (see 3.1); and b) where the shape or a dimension of the type of hollow insulator differs from the shape or dimension given in the relevant figure, the modified shape or dimension (see 3.2). Appendix C Quality verification of ceramic hollow insulators produced to

28、the requirements laid down in the standard Amdt 2 C.1 Quality verification C.1.1 When a purchaser requires ongoing verification of the quality of ceramic hollow insulators, it is suggested that, instead of concentrating solely on the evaluation of the final product, the purchaser also pays attention

29、 to the quality system of the manufacturer. In this connection it should be noted that SANS 9001 covers the provision of an integrated quality system. Amdt 1; amdt 2 C.1.2 If the hollow insulators do not bear a certification mark and no information about the implementation of quality control or test

30、ing during manufacture is available to help in assessing the quality of a lot, and a purchaser wishes to establish, by inspection and testing of samples of the final product, whether a lot (as defined in C.2.1) of the hollow insulators produced to this standard complies with its requirements, the sa

31、mpling plan given in C.2 can be applied. It must be noted that a) such a sampling plan applies to fully manufactured hollow insulators only, and 2) The information in the appendices is additional to that in the standard and has been included purely for amplification and guidance.
