12、elves, trim panels and side liner panels in the luggage compartments of motor vehicles. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. 21、 Amdt 2 3 Definition For the purposes of this standard, the following definition applies: acceptable acceptable to the authority administering this standard, or to the parties concluding the purchase contract, as relevant Amdt 1 4 Requirements 4.1 General Automotive carpeting shall: a) be of tufted

22、or needle-punched construction, as required (see annex A); b) be made in accordance with sound manufacturing practice; c) be of acceptably uniform make, width, colour(s) and finish; d) in the case of needle-punched carpeting, have an even fibre distribution; e) be free from defects that affect its a

23、ppearance or that can affect its serviceability, or both; f) be delivered in a clean and commercially dry condition; g) if so required (see annex A), be mouldable; and h) be at least equal in quality and appearance to the approved sample (see annex A). 24、rolls 4.2.1 Width The nominal width of the carpeting in a roll shall be as required (see annex A). The actual overall width, determined in accordance with 5.1, shall be at least 98,5 % of the stated nominal width (see 6.2.1(b). 4.2.2 Length The nominal length of the carpeting in a roll shall be as r

25、equired (see annex A). Unless otherwise agreed upon (see annex A), the carpeting in a roll shall be in one continuous length, and, when determined in accordance with 5.1, the actual length in a roll shall be at least 99,75 % of the stated nominal length (see 6.2.1(c). 4.3 Design and colour(s) The de

26、sign and colour(s) of the carpeting shall be as required (see annex A), and, unless otherwise agreed upon, the difference between the colour(s) of the carpeting and that/those in the corresponding buying pattern, when determined in accordance with 5.3, shall not exceed the difference represented by

27、grade 4 of the international grey scale for assessing change in colour. 4.4 Construction and composition In the construction and composition of the carpeting, the following shall be agreed upon (see annex A): a) the nominal composition of the use-surface; b) the total mass per unit area; c) in the c

28、ase of tufted carpeting only, the pile height; and d) the total thickness. NOTE If a manufacturer or purchaser requires confirmation of compliance of the carpeting with the requirements that are agreed upon in terms of (a) to (d) above, suitable test methods for the appropriate properties are given

29、in annex C. 4.5 Basic requirements The carpeting shall comply with the requirements given in table 1. 4.6 Locality requirements The carpeting for different localities within a vehicle shall comply with the requirements given in table 2 for the locality required (see annex A). 4.7 Optional requiremen

30、ts When so required (see annex A), the carpeting shall comply with one or both of the requirements given in table 3. 36、 checking for compliance with the relevant requirements of clause 6, visually examine and then measure the carpeting in each roll in the sample for compliance with the requirements of 4.1, 4.2.1 and 4.2.2, using SANS 82 and SANS 84 to measure the width and length, respectively. 5.2 Preparation of te

37、st specimens Condition the test samples in accordance with SANS 70 and then cut from them the test specimens required for the respective tests. 5.3 Colour match Use SANS 105-A02. Coll. amdt 1 5.4 Breaking strength Use SANS 13934-1, but cut the test specimens to the required width. Amdt 1 SANS 1653:2

In the case of mouldable carpeting, determine the carpetings resistance to pile withdrawal on separate specimens bef

39、ore and after heat exposure in an oven at 170 C for 1 h. Condition heat exposed specimens (in accordance with SANS 70) for 24 h before the test. 5.7 Dimensional stability 5.7.1 Apparatus 5.7.1.1 Rule or flexible steel rule or glass-fibre tape, that is marked in millimetres and is longer than the gre

40、atest dimension being measured. 5.7.1.2 Equipment for marking precise reference points, such as indelible ink or fine threads of contrasting colour. 5.7.1.3 Ventilated drying oven, that is capable of being controlled at 90 C 3 C, with perforated and lacquered shelves that can be placed in the oven.

41、5.7.1.4 Container, to hold water at 20 C 2 C, that is of dimensions at least 20 mm greater than the test specimen and deep enough to accommodate the submerged test specimen. 5.7.2 Test specimens Take at least four conditioned test specimens, each measuring not less than 250 mm 250 mm, and note the d

42、irection of manufacture. 5.7.3 Marking Place the test specimens on the measuring table and make at least three pairs of datum marks on them, both in the direction of manufacture and at right angles to the direction of manufacture. Ensure that no mark is less than 50 mm from the edges of the specimen

43、s and that the measuring points are regularly spaced across the specimens. 5.7.4 Procedure 5.7.4.1 Initial measurement of specimens Take all measurements on the test specimens when they are completely flat. Measure the distance, to the nearest millimetre, between the marks parallel to the direction

44、of manufacture and between the marks at right angles to the direction of manufacture. 5.7.4.2 Determination 5.7.4.2.1 Heat exposure Place two test specimens, lying freely on the perforated and lacquered shelves, in the drying oven (see 5.7.1.3), controlled at 90 C 3 C. Keep the specimens in the dryi

45、ng oven for 5 h, then remove and recondition them for 24 h. After reconditioning the specimens, re-measure the distance between the datum marks as in 5.7.4.1. SANS 1653:2008 Edition 1.3 9 5.7.4.2.2 Wet treatment Immerse two test specimens, laid flat, in water at a temperature of 20 C 2 C and allow t

46、hem to soak for 1 h. Remove the specimens from the water, taking precautions to avoid distorting their shape. Excess moisture can be removed by placing the specimens between sheets of blotting paper. Recondition the specimens for 24 h and re-measure the distance between the datum marks as in 5.7.4.1

47、 5.7.5 Expression of results Calculate, for each exposure treatment and separately, the arithmetic mean of the dimensions obtained for all specimens in the direction of manufacture and at right angles to the direction of manufacture. Calculate the dimensional stability in each case and express this

48、 as a percentage, using the formula: yyx 100 where x is the arithmetic mean of measurements after heat exposure or wet treatment; y is the arithmetic mean of the initial measurements. Indicate shrinkage by means of a minus sign, and an increase in dimensions by means of a plus sign. 5.8 Odour rating

49、 5.8.1 Apparatus and materials 5.8.1.1 Convection oven, that is capable of maintaining a temperature of 40 C 2 C. 5.8.1.2 Jar, of height 250 mm, of diameter 125 mm and of neck diameter 100 mm, and provided with a lid. 5.8.1.3 Wire ring, of suitable diameter. 5.8.1.4 Distilled or deionized water. 5.8.2 Test specimens Cut three test specimens each of size approximately 90 mm 200 mm. 5.8.3 Procedure 5.8.3.1 Condition the specimens in accordance with SANS 70 for 24 h. 5.8.3.2 Pour 30 mL of distilled or de
