Foreword This South African standard was approved by National Committee StanSA SC 71G, Information technology Gaming, in accordance with procedures of Standards South Africa, in compliance with annex 3 of the WTO/TBT agreement. Any reference to “legislation”, “n

17、ational legislation” or “national and provincial legislation“ in this document means reference to the applicable provisions or requirements in the above-mentioned Acts or in their Regulations. This document was published in April 2008. This document supersedes SANS 1718-1:2007 (edition 2.1). A verti

20、nts in this document are supplementary to and do not replace any of the requirements of relevant Acts (see foreword) or supporting Regulations of the provincial licensing authorities (PLA) in South Africa. The intention of this document is to place sufficient controls on software and operations to e

21、nsure that wagering is fair, safe, secure, reliable, and auditable. It is not the intention of this document to unreasonably a) mandate a single solution or method of realizing an objective, b) limit technology application of software, c) limit creativity and variety of choice, d) limit marketabilit

22、y, or e) advantage any supplier or manufacturer of software. Alternative implementations to the requirements contained in this document will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the provincial licensing authority (PLA). Situations or considerations that arise from evaluation of systems, which ha

23、ve not been addressed in this document (e.g. owing to omissions or the use of new technology), will be resolved at the sole discretion of the PLA as part of the approval process. 25、quirements 69 Annex A 74 SANS 1718-1:2008 Edition 2.2 3 Gaming equipment Part 1: Casino equipment 1 Scope 1.1 This part of SANS 1718 specifies the constructional and operational requirements for GDs that reside on, or are operated on (or both), the gaming floor of a casino. 1.2 Equipment covered by

26、the requirements of this part of SANS 1718 includes a) gaming machines, b) jackpot controllers and displays, and c) machine consoles. NOTE 1 Legislation (see foreword) requires that this equipment be attached to an electronic monitoring and control system, and therefore the requirements of SANS 1718

27、-3 are also applicable. NOTE 2 There is compulsory legislation in South Africa relating to the safety of electrical appliances and electronic equipment, and to limits on the emission of electromagnetic radiation. These requirements are not covered in this part of SANS 1718 and compliance with the re

28、quirements of this part of SANS 1718 does not ensure compliance with the aforementioned compulsory legislation.
