28、d systems listed below: a) Types i) Hand and machine, Amdt 1 ii) pulley, iii) nut, regular, iv) nut, short pattern, v) tapper, straight shank, vi) tapper, bent shank, and vii) tapper, Pearn. NOTE The attention of users of this specification is drawn to the following: a) The following requirements sh

29、all be specified in the order or contract: 1) Whether hand taps or machine taps are required (see table 21A and 4.4.8) 2) In the case of machine taps, the chamfer required (see 4.4.2.3) b) The following requirements may be specified in the order or contract: That shank forms differing from the stand

30、ard forms are required and full details of such shanks (see 4.2 as amended). Amdt 3 2 Definitions 2.1 For the purposes of this specification the following definitions shall apply: angle of thread thread angle the angle between the flanks measured in an axial plane section back taper a slight relief axially, which makes the e

32、ffective diameter of the thread near the shank somewhat smaller than at the chamfer chamfer the tapering end of the thread, obtained by cutting away the crest of the first few threads (see figure 1) diameter and sizes basic size the ideal size from which all variations are made major diameter the la

33、rgest diameter of the thread on a straight tap (see figure 1) effective diameter (of a parallel thread) the diameter of an imaginary cylinder which would pass the threads at such points as to make the width of the thread and the width of the spaces between the threads at these points equal (see figu

34、re 1) minor diameter the smallest diameter of the thread on a straight tap (see figure 1) nominal size the size by which a dimension or part is referred to as a matter of convenience lead (of a screw thread) the distance a screw thread advances axially in one revolution pitch (of a screw thread) the

35、 distance, measured parallel to its axis, between corresponding points on adjacent thread forms in the same axial plane radial relief the condition whereby metal is removed from behind the cutting edge to produce clearance and reduce friction (see figure 1) rake the deviation of the cutting face of

36、the tooth from the radial (see figure 1) SANS 662:2009 Edition 1.4 7 Sampling and inspection acceptable acceptable to the authority administering this standard, or to the parties concluding the purchase contract, as relevant Amdt 4 defective that screwing tap which does not comply in one or more res

37、pects with the relevant requirements of the specification lot not more than 1 000 screwing taps of the same type, thread system, size and tolerance zone, from the same manufacturer, submitted at any one time for inspection and test 3 Material 3.1 General The material used for the manufacture of scre

38、wed part of the taps shall be an acceptable high-carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel, or high-speed toll steel1). The shanks may be integral with the screwed part, or may be made from a medium carbon steel of adequate strength and hardness and butt-welded to the screwed part in an acceptable manner.

39、 Amdt 1 4 Constructional requirements 4.1 Basic dimensions The basic thread form of taps shall be in accordance with figures 2 to 7 and the basic thread sizes shall conform to the dimensions given in tables 1 to 5 and 8 and 9, where relevant.
