TIA/EIA Interim Standards should be reviewed on an annual basis by the formulating Committee and a decision made on whether to proceed to develop

14、3-0 enhancements), and Stage-3 (TIA/EIA-41.5-D and TIALEIA-41.6-0 enhancements) recommendations for supporting a mobile station equipped with a User Identity Module (UIM). 1.2 SCOPE This standard defines the enhancements required for the support of a mobile station equipped with a User Identity Modu

15、le (UIM). The UIM provides functionality to certain types of mobile stations to enable them to operate in the wireless network. This document defines requirements for the wireless network to support operation of UIM equipped mobile stations. A UIM provides compatible mobile stations with the paramet

16、ers required of mobile stations operating in the TIAEIA-41 environment and specific additional functionality unique to UIM-equipped mobile stations. The UIM can be in one of two forms, as either integrated within the mobile station or removable permitting the UIM to be inserted or removed from the m

24、IM inserted. Personal Mobility The capability of users to move their subscription fiom one MS to another without the need for the service provider to re-provision services. The MS must support Personal Mobility in order to allow this service and the current user must configure their MS to allow repl

25、acement of their subscription. UIM is one method of implementing Personal Mobility. R-UIM Equipped Mobile Station (MS) The ME and an inserted R-UIM is referred to as an R-UIM equipped MS. Rebinding The process by which the network updates the ESN associated to an MSID when an R- UIM is transferred f

26、iom one ME to another. Removable User Identity Module (R-UIM) A UIM that can be physically removed fiom one ME and inserted into another as long as both have compatible ME-UIM interfaces. UIM is the entity that stores and manages the identity of the subscriber and subscription related data. Subscrip

28、pter 7) 7.X.1 Users Key Capabilities Subscribers using Mobile Equipment with an R-UIM may be offered all or some of the following services and capabilities based on the service offerings of the network service provider: A stored numeric assignment module (NAM) and other needed parameters for the ope

29、ration of AMPS, CDMA, GSM, TDMA or other systems. (R-UIM storage of parameters needed for operation in other systems could permit a subscriber from a TIAEIA-41 based system to access service on a non-TIAEIA-41-based network, if the required interworking arrangements are in place.) An R-UIMs Subscrip

30、tion Data may be activated or updateable via Over-the-Air Service Provisioning (OTASP) and Over-the-Air-Parameter Administration (OTAPA). Subscription data for the R-UIM may also be updated via MS keypad. Storage and execution of authentication algorithm( s) for execution of authentication or genera

31、tion of privacy keys as instructed by the MS. Offer to the user a mechanism of protecting unauthorized usage of the R-UIM via verification PIN. Service access using one R-UIM with multiple MES if compatible ME-UIM interfaces exist. A list of DNs may be built on the R-UIM; the list shall be accessibl

32、e by all MES with which the R-UIM is used. This would permit origination of calls using speed dialing from the stored DNs on the R-UIM. Selection of optional languages and character sets from the handset keypad, if the ME supports multiple languages and character sets. 7.X.2 ME Key Capability The Us

33、er shall have access to emergency services from the ME when an R-UIM is not inserted. 36、d access network services. Authorization The use of an R-UIM in an MS must be authorized. As a condition for such authorization, the subscriber may be required to obtain the R-UIM (and possibly an ME) from the subscribers home service provider or home network operator. De-authorization The network s

37、ervice provider may withdraw service at the subscribers request or for administrative reasons. Reaistration Registration occurs upon authorization. 39、he R-UIM must first be inserted into the ME. On power-up, the R-UIM should be activated after initialization with the ME. There is no existing VLR record in the current se

49、he AUTHREQ to the AC. The AC executes CAVE using the currently stored SSD-A, the received MSID, ESN2, and RAND to produce AUTHR. The AC verifies the AUTHR received from the MS matches its CAVE result. The AC sends an authreq to the HLR Since the authentication process succeeded, the HLR binds the new ESN2 for the subscriber. The HLR forwards the authreq to the VLR Note that this binding applies to the dynamic ESN of the subscriber and does not affect the HLR storage and validation of the originally provisioned, fixed pseudo ESN of the subscriber.
