28、ork subprofiles. The CDPD Service Provider must select one subprofile from among this set for each real subnetwork interface of a system. These technologies exhibit physical, functional, performance, and cost differences that render some subprofiles more appropriate than others for particular uses.O

29、ther subnetwork technologies (subprofiles) may be used to meet specific deployment requirements. In such cases the CDPD Service Provider must provide proper specification, including conformance requirements, to ensure procurement of an effective product. That is, a product capable of supporting the

30、selected CDPD lower layer subprofiles and interoperating with all systems to be attached to the subnetwork.The primary reference for this Part is the Industry/Government Open System Specification IGOSS-1. The primary reference for the protocols in this Part is the Stable Implementation Agreements fo

This subprofile sta

33、tes the role independent of requirements for X.25 WAN interfaces. Additional role dependent requirements are specified in the CDPD lower layer subprofiles.The X.25-WAN subprofile requires the following:a71 The X.25 PLP ISO8881 and LAPB shall be provided as specified by IGOSS-1a71 The CDPD Service Pr

34、ovider must specify the desired physical interface standards (protocol and connector) for each interface.This subprofile does not mandate any specific physical interface standard. However, the following interfaces are recommended. The three standards most commonly used in conjunction with X.25 are a

The protocols for the access and provision of frame relay data transfer services shall be provided according to IG

38、OSS-1. 3.1 Point-to-Point (PPP) SubprofileFigure 312-3 depicts the CDPD subprofile choices for interfaces that support CLNS protocols directly over point-to-point data links. The CDPD Service Provider must select the basic data link procedures (LAPB or PPP) and the specific physical interface standa

The Point-to-Point Protocol shall be provided as specified in

42、RF-1171. The PPP OSI Network Layer Control Protocol shall be provided as specified in RFC1377.b.
