21、,-,-TIA-1013 5-15 TESTING OF THE ME 1 The following sequence of tests confirms: 2 1) the correct interpretation of data read from the R-UIM (Removable-User 3 Identification Module) by the ME; 4 2) the correct writing of data to the R-UIM by the ME; 5 3) the initiation of appropriate procedures by th

22、e ME; 6 4) low level protocols; 7 5) electrical characteristics; 8 6) physical characteristics. 9 All tests apply to MEs conforming to 1 using either ID-1 or Plug-in R-UIM. 10 An R-UIM simulator may be included as part of the system simulator (SS). Alternatively, to 11 perform the logical tests, R-U

23、IMs programmed with specific data may be used. The R-UIM 12 data is not defined within the initial conditions of the tests unless it differs from the default 13 values defined below. 14 5.1 Definition of Default Values for R-UIM/ME Interface Testing 15 An R-UIM containing the following default value

40、entifier (Mobile Station ID MSID or Mobile 14 Station Identification Number MSIN), Mobile Country Code (MCC), and International 15 Mobile Station Identity (IMSI) stored within the R-UIM. 16 This test applies to MEs conforming to 1 using either ID-1 or Plug-in R-UIM. 17 6.1.1.2 Conformance Requiremen

41、t 18 The MS shall conform to the requirements specified in 2.12.3 of 11. 19 6.1.1.3 Test Purpose 20 The purpose of the test is to verify that the ME uses the IMSI_S, IMSI_11_12, and MCC of 21 the R-UIM. 22 6.1.1.4 Method of Test 23 6.1.1.4.1 Initial Conditions 24 The default R-UIM is installed into

42、the ME, and the MS is powered on. 25 6.1.1.4.2 Procedure 26 The tests shall be conducted in accordance with the procedures and requirements defined 27 in 2.12 (MSID, MCC, and IMSI) of 11. 28 6.1.1.5 Test Requirement 29 The ME shall conform to the requirements defined in 2.12.3 (Minimum Standard) of

44、of the ME to read the appropriate home system information 3 from the R-UIM, compare that stored information to that received by the ME in the Sync 4 Channel Message, and to display the appropriate roaming indication to the user. 5 This test applies to MEs conforming to 1 using either ID-1 or Plug-in

45、 R-UIM. 6 6.1.2.2 Conformance Requirement 7 The ME shall compare the values of SIDp and NIDp stored within EFCDMAHOME with those 8 received in the Sync Channel Message (SIDr and NIDr, respectively) as the basis for 9 displaying a roaming indication to the user. 10 6.1.2.3 Test Purpose 11 The purpose

46、 of the test is to verify the ME is able to read, interpret, and apply during the 12 normal course of operation the values of SIDp and NIDp stored within EFCDMAHOME. 13 6.1.2.4 Method of Test 14 6.1.2.4.1 Initial Conditions 15 The values of the SID and NID fields of the Sync Channel Message transmit

47、ted by the 16 system simulator shall be set to equal those stored in the R-UIM (EFCDMAHOME). 17 6.1.2.4.2 Procedure 18 1) Power-on the mobile station. 19 2) Observe the status of any roaming indicator icon or display element on the 20 mobile station. 21 3) Set the values of the SID and NID fields of

48、 the Sync Channel Message 22 transmitted by the system simulator to values other than those stored in the R-23 UIM (EFCDMAHOME). 24 4) Power cycle (power-off then power-on) the mobile station. 25 5) Observe the status of any roaming indicator icon or display element on the 26 mobile station. 27 6.1.2.5 Test Requirement 28 1) In step 2) of the test procedure, the roaming indicator icon or display element of 29 the mobile station shall indicate the mobile station is operating within its home 30 system. 31
