、The purpose of this addendum is to update TIA-102AABF-A “Link Control Word Formats and Messages” (Ref. 1). These enhancements provide for extended identification of the source of a call, status update, message update or call alert in cases where implicit identification of the source is insufficient.
、 The outline of the addendum is substantially the same as that of its parent, with Sections 2 and 3 describing the scope and revision history of the document, respectively; Section 4 defining extensions to terms and abbreviations and Section 5 detailing normative references. Section 6 overviews the
、messages defined herein, and Section 7 defines the message formats. 2 Scope As an addendum, this document only includes information relevant to the addition of and changes to the referenced parent document. 43、ortion of the voice message as defined in Ref 1 and may be present in Logical Link Data Unit 1 (LDU1) and the Expanded Terminator Data Unit (ETDU) of the Common Air Interface. In Ref. 1, the term “Source Address” is equivalent to the Working Unit ID (WUID) of a subscriber unit originating a transact
、ion. The WUID is assigned during registration, and therefore may change when registration changes. Generally, if the WACN and System ID match that of the particular system being used, the WUID is the 24-bit Unit ID portion of the SUID. Under these circumstances, the “Source Address” uniquely identif
、ies a particular subscriber, because the SUID of the subscriber can be derived from the Source Address and knowledge of the WACN and System. When, however, the WUID is assigned to a subscriber from outside the current system, it may not, and generally does not, match the 24-bit Unit ID portion of th
、e SUID. Therefore, an explicit identification of the unit is required for certain messages. In particular, in the outbound direction, an extended ID is required whenever the full APCO source identifier cannot be computed by concatenating the working id with the system and network IDs of the transmit
、ting RFSS. Likewise, in the inbound direction, extended forms must be used whenever the full APCO destination identifier cannot be similarly derived. This addendum contains modifications to the LCW messages to provide for that extended identification when required. Copyright Telecommunications Indus
