31、iber Specifications. NOTE - This Specification was previously published as part of EIA-4928000. This Specification forms a part of a set of TINEIA standards that systematically specifies performance requirements for optical fiber. This hierarchical specification system comprises four tiers: - The Ge

32、neric Specification, TIA/EIA-4920000-B, is the umbrella document for all optical fiber specifications. It delineates minimum requirements that are common to all optical fiber types, as well as providing a “shopping list“ of test requirements and test methods that may be applied to families of fiber

33、targeted toward various applications, and to specific groups of fiber designs. - Sectional Specifications define requirements for fiber families, ordered by primary design (e. g., multimode, single-mode). They set forth requirements applicable to all fibers in the family. Sectional Specifications re

34、ference the Generic Specification, extracting requirements applicable to the fiber family. They may introduce other requirements that are not addressed in the Generic Specification. Values for most requirements are delegated specifically to the Detail Specifications. - Blank Detail Specifications ar

They give specific directions for writing Detail Specifications and may introduce additional requirements that are not addressed in the higher-order documents. - Detail Specifica

They also may introduce additional requirements not addressed in the higher-order documents. Values for primary performance requirements are given in the Detail Specifications. Detail

37、Specifications may be written by TIA Working Groups or by manufacturers. Some attributes that are normally expected to vary among purchases (e. g., length) may be delegated to the procurement document.
