40、for circuit-mode and packet-mode data services. Figures 1.3-1 and 1.3-2 show three separate paths associated with the L interface: the Mobile Data Path, the Signahg Path, and the PSTN Path. The Mobile Data Path applies to both circuit-mode and packet-mode data services. and provides a mechanism to t

41、ransport end-user data between the MS and the WF. The Signaling Path also applies to both circuit-mode and packet-mode services, and provides control procedures for both the Mobile Data Path and the PSTN Path, as needed. The PSTN Path only applies to circuit-mode data services, and provides a mechan

42、ism for the IWF to access the PSTN via the BS/MSC to originate and terminate PSTN voice-band modem calls on behalf of mobile users. This standard does not describe the PPDN interface to the WF for packet-mode data services. Sections 2, 3, and 4 describe, respectively, the Mobile Data Path, the PSTN
