23、and other compatible teleservice messages. In addition to the Bearer Data and Teleservice Identifier attributes, support is provided within MAP SMS signaling protocols and procedures to specify the broadcast scope and method related to a specific teleservice message to be broadcast. The additional B

24、TTC attributes (Broadcast Teleservice Transport Information: BTTI) are: Table 1: BTTC Attributes Name Description Category Indication of the specific subject matter of the Teleservice payload (e.g., emergency, system operator announcement, advertisement, sports). Category Specific Information For a

25、specific broadcast category, an indication to SMEs of relevant data pertaining to this broadcast message. Group Identification of the target mobile station audience (e.g., Target Service Group). Identification Uniquely identifies the broadcast message over the network originating from a particular S

26、ME (i.e., unique on a per-SME basis). Language Indicator Indication of the language in which the Bearer Data in the message is written (e.g., Franais, English). Periodicity Indication of the requested start time, duration and repetition rate of the broadcast (e.g., start time: 0900 hours, duration:

27、2 hours, repetition rate: every 5 minutes). Priority Indication of the level of priority of the broadcast message (e.g., normal, interactive, urgent, emergency). Status Indication of whether the message is new, a replacement, or a deletion of an existing message with the same identification. Zone In

28、dication of the geographical area over which the message is requested to be broadcast (e.g., cells, sectors or both within an MSC, or whole MSC). Specific implementations may not make use of all of these attributes. 1.1 Normal Procedures With Successful Outcome Normal Operation with Successful Outco

29、me If a request for message broadcast is accepted (e.g., by a Message Center), the message is forwarded toward the destination Serving MSCs. The BTTI in the message is interpreted by the respective Serving MSCs which then broadcast the teleservice message to SMEs within the broadcast zone. S.R0006-8

31、by the Message Center. Call Detail Record The system should record the following information: a. BTTC message broadcast attempts (e.g., SMD-PP successfully sent, or air interface messages). b. Payload and broadcast parameters sizes, as broadcast by the MSC. 1.2 Exception Procedures or Unsuccessful O

32、utcome Exceptions While Roaming BTTC operates on a geographic area and is a function of a Serving System capability. BTTC may not be supported while roaming. BTTC messages from the home system may not be received. BTTC messages from the new serving system may be received. Exceptions During Intersystem Handoff BTTC may not be supported during handoff. BTTC messages from the anchor system may not be received. New BTTC messages from the new serving system may be received. 1.3 Alternate Procedures None Identified. 1.4 Interactions With Other Wireless Services None identified.
