Command set interface between data terminal equipment (DTE) and 7 data circuit terminating equipment (DCE). 8 Base Station. A station in the Domestic Public Cellular Radio Telecommunications 9 Service, other than a

43、 mobile station, used for communicating with mobile stations. 10 Depending upon the context, the term base station may refer to a cell, a sector within a 11 cell, an MSC, an IWF, or other part of the cellular system. 12 BS. See base station. 13 Data Circuit-Terminating Equipment (DCE). A DCE connect

44、s a TE2 to the PSTN. A 14 typical DCE would be a V-series modem. For Group-3 Fax Service, the DCE and its 15 associated TE2 are often combined into a single Group-3 fax machine. 16 Digital Facsimile. That form of facsimile in which densities of the original are sampled 17 and quantified as a digital

An IWF provides the functions needed for terminal 25 equipment connected to a mobile termination to inter-work with termi

47、nal equipment 26 connected to the PSTN. A physical implementation may include a pool of modems. 27 Mobile Station.
