3、Each input/output circuit is to be tested as specified in 48.4.2 - 48.4.5. The signaling equipmentconnected to these circuits shall not false alarm, operate as intended, and, as appropriate, retain requiredstored memory (such as date, type, and location of a signal transmission) within the unit when

4、 subjectedto transient voltage pulses as described in 48.4.3. Supplemental information stored within the unit neednot be retained.Exception: A circuit or cable that interconnects equipment located within the same room need not besubjected to this test.48.4.2 The unit is to be energized in the normal

5、 standby condition while connected to a source of supplyin accordance with Table 25.1.48.4.3 For this test, each input/output circuit is to be subjected to five different transient waveforms havingpeak voltage levels in the range of 100 to 2400 volts, as delivered into a 200 ohm load. A transientwav

6、eform at 2400 volts shall have a pulse rise time of 100 volts per microsecond, a pulse duration ofapproximately 80 microseconds, and an energy level of approximately 1.2 joules. Other applied transientsshall have peak voltages representative of the entire range of 100 to 2400 volts, with pulse durat

7、ions from80 to 1110 microseconds, and energy levels not less than 0.03 joule or greater than 1.2 joules. Thetransient pulses are to be coupled directly onto the output circuit conductors of the equipment under test.48.4.4 Each input/output circuit is to be subjected to 60 transient pulses introduced

8、 at the rate of six pulsesper minute as follows:a) Ten pulses (two at each transient voltage level specified in 48.4.3) between one side of eachinput/output circuit and earth ground. Repeat the ten pulses with the polarity reversed (total of20 pulses).b) Repeat (a) between the other side of each inp

9、ut/output circuit and earth ground (total of 20pulses).c) Ten pulses (two at each transient voltage level specified in 48.4.3) across each input/outputcircuit. Repeat the ten pulses with the polarity reversed (total of 20 pulses).48.4.4.1 For these testsa, the transient generator is to be connected

10、to its alternating current (AC) powersource through an isolating transformer. 11、 of the transient generator is connected to the earthgroundconnection of the product under test, and the other output is connected through a decouplingfixture to the terminal to be tested. To reverse the polarity, the connection at the product undertest is reversed. The earthground of the product sh

12、all be connected to earthground.b) For 48.4.4(c), one output of the transient generator is connected to one of the terminals tobe tested and the other output is connected through a decoupling fixture to the other terminal tobe tested. To reverse the polarity, the connection at the product under test

13、 is reversed. If theproduct is equipped with an earthground, it shall be connected to earthground.The decoupling fixture is a 200-ohm, 10-watt (minimum) resistor in series with a 1-microfarad, 1000-voltDC (minimum) capacitor.aCAUTION: Potentially lethal voltage are involved. The transient generator

14、and the product under test are to be on a non-conductivesurface and appropriate safety precautions observed.48.4.3 For this test, each input/output circuit is to be subjected to the transient waveforms specified in thefollowing table, as delivered into a 200-ohm load.
