3、eterDECISION:Paragraph 41.1 to be revised as follows:A module or panel and any mounting hardware supplied with the module or panel shall withstand a loadas shown in Figure 41.1 and specified in 41.2 for a period of 30 min, without evidence of structural ormechanical failure. Modules that are intende

4、d to be installed as part of a building wall or roof structure,and serve as primary members of that building wall or roof structure, shall not have a deflection of morethan L/240; where L is equal to the clear span length in feet of the deflected member. All glazingmaterials shall be of such strengt

5、h as to withstand the loads specified in 41.2.Exception: Modules that are intended to be installed as part of a building wall or roof structure only inapplications where they do not serve as a member of the building primary structural frame shall besubjected to the Mechanical Loading Test based on 1

6、00% and 150% of the manufacturers rated load andcomply with 41.3. Lateral (center of glass) deflections under the 100% load shall be measured andreported in the instruction manual.Paragraph 41.3 to be added as follows:41.3 Upon completion of the Mechanical Loading Test as described in 41.1 and 41.2

7、for modules that areintended to be installed as part of a building wall or roof structure only in applications where they do notserve as a member of the building primary structural frame, a repeat of the Voltage, Current and PowerMeasurements Test is to be conducted as described in Section 20. Value

8、s of the initial voltage, currentand power shall not differ from the measured values in the repeated test to the degree that there isevidence of internal damage to the module as a result of the loading.Paragraph 48.7 to be added as follows:48.7 The Installation Instructions for modules that are inte

9、nded to be installed as part of a building wall orroof structure only in applications where they do not serve as a member of the building primary structuralframe shall include:a) a statement indicating the modules are for use only in applications where they do not serveas a member of the building pr

10、imary structural frame; andb) the positive and negative test loads, and the measured lateral deflections while exposed tothe 100% test loads as described in Section 41.UL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM ULRATIONALE FOR DECISION:The

11、L/240 deflection limit applies only to primary structural frame members supporting non-plaster ceilingsof roof structures as defined in Chapter 16 of the International Building Code.The new approach is being offered for modules that are intended to be installed as a part of a buildingwall or roof st

12、ructure only in applications where they do not serve as a member of the building primarystructural frame. In this case, the determination of the acceptability will be based on the loading rating,the application of the module in the building, and the application of the building code within the jurisd

13、ictionby the building official. The Mechanical Loading Test will be based on the manufacturers rated value fordesign load. Reporting of the load and deflections will provide information for designers and buildingofficials to determine the acceptable uses.The additional Voltage, Current and Power Mea

14、surements Test is to demonstrate that the cells were notdamaged when subjected to the test load defined in Section 41.
