The test fixture for testing the lam

The temperature on components shall not exceed the limits described in Table 8.2.In addition,no lampholder or wooden test fixture surface shall exceed 90CSA8.5.7 Lamp input current shall be recorded 15 minutes after the start of the test, and at the end o

These values shall comply with 8.2.1 and they be within 10 percent of each other.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:These revisions document ULs certification practice for performing the temperature test on linear LEDlamps. The revision to SA8.5.6 is intended to verify that an LED lamp is not likely t
6、o cause any luminaire ormounting surface to exceed 90C when the lamp is installed and operated as intended. LED lamps withtraditional incandescent lamp bases are likely to be installed luminaires designed for incandescent lamps.Such luminaires are designed to withstand the thermal stresses of tradit

However, linear LED lamps tend to be used inluminaires designed for fluorescent lamps, which are designed for lower thermal gradients between theirlight sources and nearby electrical insulation and combustible mo

It is also consistent with thelimit for surfaces upon which the
9、 unit is placed or mounted in service in Table 8.1 of UL 8750, Standardfor LED Equipment for Use in Lighting Products.SA8.5.7 is intended to verify that the lamp functions normally during the temperature test, and that currentdraw is compliant with the input measurements. Neither UL 1598 (clause 14.
10、2.9) nor UL 8750 (clause8.3.7) allow protective components to operate during the normal temperature test, or for a power sourceto fold back the current during normal operation. The verbiage for SA8.5.7 is consistent with that in UL8750.Copyright 2017 UL LLCUL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR
