4、s andaccessories) that employ a pre-alarm signal.DECISION:New Section 3.263.26 Pre-alarm An optional signal above 30 ppm of CO, unique from the trouble and alarm signal,intended to provide an early notification of the detection of carbon monoxide prior to an alarm signal.When the pre-alarm signal oc

5、curs, the carbon monoxide alarm shall emit the unique pre-alarm signal atthe indicating carbon monoxide alarm and may also send the pre-alarm signal to a wirelesscommunication remote accessory device. The pre-alarm signal is an optional signal that whenimplemented does not prohibit the normal operat

6、ion of the carbon monoxide alarm. When rapid levels ofcarbon monoxide are detected as specified in UL 2034, the alarm signal shall take precedence over thepre-alarm signal.Revised Section 38.1.3, 38.2.2 and 38.2.3 (Section 38 Electrical Supervision Test)38.1.3 If an audible trouble signal is require

7、d to indicate a fault condition, it shall be produced every 30 -60 seconds 10 percent for a minimum of seven consecutive days. The trouble signal shall be distinctivefrom the alarm signal and, if provided, pre-alarm signal.38.2.2 Neither loss nor restoration of power shall cause an alarm signal unde

8、r either momentary orextended (at least 1/2 hour) power outage conditions. Momentary energization of the alarm circuit(maximum of 1 second), and energization of the trouble circuit (maximum of 2 minutes), is not consideredan alarm signal. A gradual increase to 110 percent of rated voltage or reducti

9、on to 0 volts from ratedvoltage at a rate of not greater than 5 volts per minute shall not result in energization of the alarm (orpre-alarm) signal for more than 1 second.38.2.3 Loss of power to a single unit of a multiple station alarm configuration, while energized in thestandby condition, shall n

10、ot result in a false alarm (or pre-alarm) and shall not prevent the operation of theremaining units for alarm.Revised Section 39.1 (Section 39 Sensitivity Test)UL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL39.1.1 A carbon monoxide alarm shal

11、l operate (alarm signal) at or below the test points specified in PartA of Table 39.1 when using the test equipment described in 39.2.1. These test points are based on plottedlimits for the 10 percent COHb curve Figure 39.1. If the alarm employs a variable sensitivity setting, testmeasurements are t

12、o be made at maximum and minimum settings. For this test, three carbon monoxideconcentrations (70, 150, and 400 ppm) are to be used as specified in Part A of Table 39.1.39.1.2 A carbon monoxide alarm shall not operate (alarm signal) below the test points specified in Part Bof Table 39.1, when using

13、the test equipment described in 39.2.1. If the alarm employs a variablesensitivity setting, test measurements are to be made at maximum and minimum settings. For this test, atleast two carbon monoxide concentrations (70 and 30 ppm) are to be used as specified in Part B of Table39.1. It is not prohib

14、ited for a pre-alarm signal to occur prior to the exposure time specified for the testpoints outlined in Table 39.1 provided the gas concentration is in excess of 30 ppm carbon monoxide39.1.3 A single station carbon monoxide alarm employing a secondary power supply shall operate withinthe limits spe

15、cified in 39.1.1 when operating from the secondary power supply.Revised Section 40.1 and 40.5 (Section 40 Selectivity Test)40.1 The alarm (or pre-alarm) shall not sound when an alarm is exposed sequentially, as described in 40.3- 40.6, to the concentrations of gases and vapors shown in Table 40.1. T

16、hese substances are intendedto represent air contaminants found in the vicinity of an installed alarm.40.5 Allow the alarm to remain in the chamber for 2 hours. During this time the alarm (or pre-alarm) shallnot sound.Revised Section 42.1 (Stability Test)42.1 There shall not be false alarms (or pre-

17、alarms) of an alarm set at the maximum sensitivity settingwhen two representative samples are placed in the test chamber as specified in 39.2.1. Two additionalsamples are to be tested as described in 42.2. Momentary energization of the alarm (maximum of 1second) does not constitute a false alarm (or

18、 pre-alarm) during this test. Alarms are to be conditioned fornot less than 48 hours under the ambient conditions specified in 39.2.1.Revised Section 46.1 (Section 46 Variable Ambient Temperature Test)46.1.1 An alarm shall operate for its intended signaling performance and there shall be no false al

19、arms(or pre-alarms) during the exposures when tested at ambient temperatures of 0C and 49C (32F and120F) at a relative humidity as indicated below. Two alarms, one at maximum and one at minimumsensitivity, are to be maintained at both ambient temperatures for at least 3 hours so that thermalequilibr

20、ium is reached. The units then are to be tested for sensitivity while connected to a source of supplythat is in accordance with 35.3.1.Revised Section 47.1 and 47.2 (Section 47 Humidity Test)47.1 High humidity (non-condensing)47.1.1 Two alarms, one at maximum and one at minimum sensitivity, shall op

21、erate for their intendedsignaling performance and there shall be no false alarms (or pre-alarms) during the exposure whenexposed for 168 hours to air having a relative humidity of 95 4 percent at a temperature of 52 3C (1255F) while energized from a source of supply in accordance with 35.3.1.47.2 Lo

22、w humiditySTANDARD NUMBER: UL 2034 -2-UL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL47.2.1 Two alarms, one at maximum and one at minimum sensitivity, shall operate for their intendedsignaling performance and there shall be no false alarms (o

23、r pre-alarms) during the exposure whenexposed for 168 hours to air having a relative humidity of 10 3 percent at a temperature of 22 3C (725F) while energized from a source of supply in accordance with 35.3.1.Revised Section 49.1.2 and 49.4.1 (Section 49 Transient Tests)49.1.2 Different alarms are t

24、o be used for each of the four tests in 49.1.1. The alarms shall not false alarm(or pre-alarm) for more than 1 second. Alarms using a primary battery as a power supply are to besubjected to the extraneous transients test only. If an alarm is intended for multiple-station connection, thetransient tes

25、ts are to be conducted with the maximum number of alarms intended to be connected.49.4.1 Single or multiple station carbon monoxide alarms shall not false alarm (or pre-alarm) and theirintended operation shall not be impaired when subjected to extraneous transients generated by thedevices and applia

26、nces described in 49.4.2. In addition, the alarm shall respond to carbon monoxideduring application of the transient condition.Revised Section 54.1 (Section 54 Dust Test)54.1 The sensitivity of an alarm shall not be affected by an accumulation of dust, without an alarm (orpre-alarm) or audible troub

27、le signal being produced.Revised Section 55.1 (Section 55 Static Discharge Test)55.1 The components of an alarm shall be shielded so that its operation is not adversely affected whensubjected to static electric discharges. Operation of the trouble circuit during this test is not considered afailure

28、if the subsequent operation of the alarm is not impaired. Operation of the alarm (or pre-alarm) shallterminate in less than 5 seconds. The test is to be conducted in an ambient temperature of 23 3C (73.45F), at a relative humidity of 10 5 percent, and a barometric pressure of not less than 700 mm of

29、mercury (93 kPa).Revised Section 58.1 (Section 58 Jarring Test)58.1 An alarm shall withstand jarring resulting from impact and vibration such as might be experienced inservice, without causing an alarm (or pre-alarm) signal, without dislodgement of any parts, and withoutadversely affecting its opera

30、tion. A momentary audible trouble signal resulting from the jarring isacceptable if the alarm operation is not affected. Dislodgement of parts shall not occur unless thedislodged part(s) does not affect the operation of the unit, there are no hazardous-voltage parts exposed,and the condition is visu

31、ally obvious.Revised Section 65.1 (Section 65 Polarity Test)65.1 A carbon monoxide alarm shall operate as intended after being connected in each polarity. Whileenergized under either polarity, the alarm shall comply with the requirements of the Electric Shock CurrentTest, Section 66. This includes c

32、ord connected and fixed wiring (splice lead) types, battery types (main orstandby) and multiple station interconnection leads. Each polarity is to be applied for at least 24 hours onall units unless a trouble signal or alarm (or pre-alarm) signal is obtained. For battery operated alarmsintended to b

33、e connected by a polarized clip assembly, the reverse polarity is to be applied for a minimumof 1 second. A trouble or alarm (or pre-alarm) signal is to be not prohibited under any incorrect polarityapplied. A maximum 1-second alarm is not prohibited when the correct polarity is connected.Revised Se

Sensitivity measurements shall comply with the Sensitivity Test, Section 39.Revised Section 74.1 (Section 72 Contamination Test (Cooking By-Products)74.1 After exposure in accordance with 74.2 - 74.5,

38、 an alarm shall not false alarm (or pre-alarm) orotherwise be adversely affected. Sensitivity measurements following the exposure shall comply with theSensitivity Test, Section 39.Revised Section 75.3 (Watertightness test)75.3.1 A alarm marked Watertight is to be tested as specified in 75.3.2. There

39、 shall be no evidence ofwater leakage so as to reach energized parts. No false alarms (or pre-alarms) shall be generated and thealarm shall operate as intended.Revised Section 75.3 (Drip test)75.4.1 An alarm not marked Watertight is to be tested as specified in 75.4.2 and 75.4.3. 44、N:Carbon monoxide alarms and carbon monoxide alarm accessories have been required to provide analarm signal to indicate an emergency condition. To provide an early notification of the detection of carbonmonoxide prior to an alarm signal, carbon monoxide alarms and carbon monoxide alarm accessories m

45、ayprovide an optional pre-alarm signal. These requirements outlined above, provide a minimum set of testsfor evaluating carbon monoxide alarms and carbon monoxide alarm accessories that provide a pre-alarmsignal. These requirements also align with the CRD requirements established for smoke alarms wi
