、tegory IFDR7, UL offers certification for low voltage luminaires forCanada based on the requirements of CSA C22.2 No. 250.0 or, for cabinet and under-cabinet low voltageluminaires, per CSA C22.2 No. 9.0. Both of these standards address luminaires of input voltages up to600 V, with no particular allo
、wances or relaxations for low voltage products.CSA C22.2 No. 250.0 section 13.4 requires luminaires intended and marked for wet locations to complywith certain supplemental construction and performance requirements. These supplemental requirementsare intended to protect against the increased risk of
、 electric shock associated with the presence of water, which can undermine and render less effective the luminaires electrical insulation system. CSA C22.2 No.9.0 has similar requirements, in section 10.2.UL 2108 is written specifically for low voltage luminaires. Clause 3.19 identifies the voltage l

、n thevoltage limits of 3.19 to be marked suitable for wet locations. The wet location luminaire requirements of CSA C22.2 No. 250.0 sections 13.4 and CSA C22.2 No. 9.0section 10.2 are intended to verify that a luminaires electrical insulation system design is able to withstandthe impacts of water and
、 protect against the risk of electric shock. Luminaires that operate at voltageswhere there is no risk of electric shock do not rely upon these luminaire design features and therefore areexempt from these requirements.Copyright 2016 Underwriters Laboratories Inc.ULs Technical Guidance Documents are
