Sign sectionsshipped at a later date include a duplicate set of instructions that identifies all the connected sign sectionsby number including the rough-in sign section.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:Equipment room or u

7、tility room mounting of power supplies and LED drivers for remote channel letters isbecoming more common as an installation practice that affords better protection of the power sourceswhile helping facilitate more efficient electric sign maintenance. This type of installation is permitted by theNEC

8、and it provides easier access by service personnel than mounting sign power supplies in traditionallocations such as in attics, behind roof top parapets etc. This type of installation during the rough-in phaseof building construction prevents damage to the rest of the sign sections while waiting ons

9、ite for the finalinstallation phase. Manufacturers have asked for permission to ship just the sign sections needed for therough-in installation phase and for shipping the remainder of the sign sections only after rough-in iscomplete and the building is ready for the final sign installation.The inten

10、t of 4.4.6.1.1 is to make sure the sections are part of a brand new sign, designed to fit together,and are all made by or supplied through the sign manufacturer as a complete sign system.This CRD clarifies how separate shipment of one or more sections of a new sign can be achieved tofacilitate the i

11、nstallation of certain sign sections such as the power supplies or LED drivers during therough-in phase of a construction.
