11、eater than 600 volts are becoming more commonplace, and accepted as lowvoltage wiring in the National Electrical Code. The NEC was revised in 2014 to raise the long-acceptedthreshold of 600 V to 1000 V. While there have been proposals to raise this level to 2000 volts, theseproposals were not accept

While this upper limit for low voltage wiring is evolving, theimpact to connectors is less dynamic, as the connector is not impacted by concerns such as switching.Since the NEC establishe

The1000 volt rating for signs and luminaires remains with the specific marking for those applications, howeverit is no longer necessary to identify that rating in clause 1.4 as that value would fall within the range

This CRD also aligns with a CRD that accomplishes the same addition in UL 486C.This CRD provides rating break points at 1000 Volts (present NEC level for low voltage), 1500 Volts(more common break point for alternative energy applications), and 2000 volts (upper limit established

However, use of the 40% value is the moreconservative approach to an extension of the test values in Table 28 to the test values in Table 29.STANDARD NUMBER: UL 486A-4
