27、 in 2.2, a component of a product covered by this standard shall comply with the requirements for that component. See Appendix A for a list of standards covering components generally used in the products covered by this standard. 2.2 A component is not required to comply with a specic requirement th

28、at: a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the application of the component in the product covered by this standard, or b) Is superseded by a requirement in this standard. 2.3 A component shall be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions of use. 2.4

29、 Specic components are incomplete in construction features or restricted in performance capabilities. Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such as certain temperatures not exceeding specied limits, and shall be used only under those specic conditions. 2.5 A Relocatable

30、 Power Tap (RPT) shall comply with the Standard for Relocatable Power Taps, UL 1363 and shall only be mounted to the wired cabinet if provided with a temporary mounting means incorporated as a feature of the RPT. The mounting feature is the only acceptable method of securement of the RPT to the wire

31、d cabinet. Exception: Hook and loop and other securement means are allowed provided the securement system complies with all of the following: a) The RPT is removable without the use of tools; b) No part of the securement means is located in the plane of the receptacle face; c) There are no modicatio

32、ns of the RPT enclosure; and d) The RPT is not secured by any electrical cord. 2.5 revised April 11, 2013 2.6 A Furniture Power Distribution Unit (FPDU) shall comply with the Standard for Furniture Power Distribution Units, UL 962A and shall be mounted to the wired cabinet using the mounting feature

CONSTRUCTION 5 General 5.1 A wired cabinet shall be constructed to provide mechanical strength. 5.2 A wired cabinet for use in wet locations shall be investigated for such use. The investigation may include a rain

43、test, a humidity test, or both. 44、, painting, varnishing, or lacquering. Exception No. 1: Threaded holes, and the cut edges and punched holes of an enclosure, and the like, formed of galvanized stock are not required to be corrosion resistant. Exception No. 2: Malleable-iron parts, and steel nuts, bolts, screws, and washers are not

45、required to be corrosion resistant. Exception No. 3: Brass, copper, and lead-alloy (terne) shall not be used for the plating of iron or steel parts to provide corrosion resistance. 7 Joints 7.1 A method of making joints between metal parts and of fastening arms and supports shall be such as to provi

46、de strength and rigidity to prevent turning that could result in the movement of a wire or wiring device after the assembly is completed. 7.2 A screw joint may be locked by solder, a setscrew, sealing, or the equivalent. 7.3 Friction alone between parts is not an acceptable means of preventing turni

47、ng. Turning may be prevented by a lock washer, applied as intended, a locknut seated against another nut, or by an equivalent method. 7.4 Sheet metal nuts may be used to prevent turning when supplied as part of an armored-cable or exible-conduit connector. Sheet metal nuts made of heat-treated steel

48、 may be used for assembly, to prevent turning of threaded tubing not larger than 1/8-inch (3.16-mm) pipe size, and on 1/4-inch (6.35-mm) and smaller diameter bolts and studs. 7.5 A swivel joint shall be constructed so that turning will not damage the insulation on the wires. If wires passing through

49、 the joint are concealed, the joint shall be constructed so that rotation is limited to no more than 360 degrees.
