4、ing:5 Glossary5.3.1 CURRENT TAP An attachment plug with a single integral outlet device.5.5 FURNITURE POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT (FPDU) An electrical enclosure provided with anattached power supply cord and attachment plug or current tap for connection to a permanently installedbranch circuit receptacl
5、e outlet. The FPDU is provided with a mounting means for attachment to afurnishing. The electrical enclosure may be provided with one or more receptacle outlets. The FPDU mayalso be provided in any combination of the following configurations:a) The electrical enclosure connected to the power supply
6、cord and attachment plug may besupplied with up to six lengths of flexible cord not exceeding 6 feet in length; each length shallbe terminated with a maximum of 3 receptacle outlets within an electrical enclosure or 3 cordconnectors. Refer to Clause 13.6 limiting the total number of outlets, Table 1

12、Class 2 output connectors.13.7 Current Tap13.7.1 The outlet of a current tap shall have the same current rating of 15 or 20 Amps and the samevoltage rating of either 125 or 250 V only as the ANSI/NEMA configuration plug.13.7.2 A current tap shall be of the grounding type. The current tap outlet may
13、be the same or differentslot configuration (locking and non-locking) as the plug.13.7.3 A FPDU may employ a current tap fitting when the power supply cord size and the number ofoutlets, including the outlet of the current tap, do not require supplementary protection. A FPDU may notutilize a current
14、tap when supplementary overcurrent protection is required. See 13.7.4.13.7.4 The outlet of a current tap in a FPDU shall comply with the applicable requirements for a receptacleoutlet in the Standard for Attachment Plugs and Receptacles, UL 498. The grounding contact of thecurrent tap outlet shall c

A power supplycord constructed in this manner i
20、s permitted by UL 817 the Standard for Cord Sets and Power SupplyCord and is referred to as a current tap.This CRD maintains an approach that is consistent with UL 817 by referencing UL 498, the Standard forAttachment Plugs and Receptacles, for requirements associated with any outlet device includin
