、eassemblies and power cable assemblies) for interconnecting or powering units of a communications orsimilar system where the assemblies are outside the unit enclosures and installed in areas accessible onlyto qualified persons. These products consist of factory-made multiple-conductor assemblies of
、connectorsto power cables in which all of the conductors are insulated. They are for connection on the load side ofListed overcurrent devices of a-c or d-c circuits as specified in Section 240-21(a) of the National ElectricalCode, NFPA 70-1999. They are not for disconnection under load and are so ma
、rked.1.2 Power cable assemblies are rated in volts and amperes. Their current rating is the maximum load inamperes for the cable in free air at 30C (86F), with derating of the cable ampacity as specified in Section400-5 or 318-11 of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70-1999 where appropriate becaus

Strain relief is also provided at each end.1.4 Non-pendant power cable assemblies consist of Listed Type TC power and control tray cablesfactory-terminated at one or both ends to Liste
、d male or female connectors, wire connectors, or otherwiring devices for mating to connectors, field-wiring terminals, other terminations, or power-supply busbars. Where one end is not terminated, the conductors are for individual termination in the field using wireconnectors Listed for the conducto
、r material (copper or aluminum) and size and for the solid conductorsor the particular type of conductor stranding, number of strands, and size of strands used in the cableconductors. These assemblies are appropriate for use in cable trays as specified in Article 318 of theNational Electrical Code,
、NFPA 70-1999. Where installed in an area in which the assembly is protectedfrom physical damage, no more than 7 feet or 2.1 meters of the cable is to be exposed between the cabletray and the equipment.1.5 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or dif
